Have you ever seen Rocky III where Apollo takes Rocky back to the old school gym he used to train at where everyone has the “Eye of the Tiger”?
That gym look liked a shit sty, there’s no two ways about that. But, regardless of the equipment, or the fact that this was a movie, I have seen how atmosphere can make all the difference in the world when it comes to results.
Follow a crappy strength program in a high energy, eye of the tiger environment and watch results come faster than a speeding jet. Follow a great program in some fancy health club and watch the struggle for results…..it’s inevitable.
The most sought after piece of the puzzle for working out is getting results. Most people simply don’t get any! Change your atmosphere and watch your results change for the better.
I have been getting phone calls to the gym from all over the states and e mails from all over the world, all talking about how changing the training tools and getting out of the fancy local health clubs has improved their training by leaps and bounds.
Today, our athletes trained outdoors for much of their workout, soaking up the sun, the fresh air and the energy of the outdoors.
Look around the local health club, who there has the eye of the tiger? I am sure you are saying that noone does. But, get to one of those run down, old school, basic sweat shops that are so rare to find nowadays and you’ll see everyone has the eye of the tiger.
Once you get an inside look at what we do at The Underground you’ll quickly see how you can organize your own Underground Strength Club. I did this myself in a small section of a garage and a backyard, now it’s your turn to take advantage.

P.S. – One thing you will love at The Underground are all the new videos I am adding. Watch me and my athletes train, behind the scenes, raw and uncut. You’ll witness my wild, crazy ways and powerful strength methods that others only wish they could see.

There’s no doubt about it, I’m a crazy man, a mad man if you will. There is also a method to my madness.
Sometimes, crazy is good, other times, you must know how to tame your wild side.
I’ve been molding my craziness through years and years of experience on myself and while training others, not while pushing keyboard buttons and claiming to be a tough guy.
I have my flaws, but I’m always working on improving those flaws.
I’m relentless on attacking flaws and weak points and you should be doing the same.
For most people, it’s everything they CAN’T see when looking in the mirror. That’s right, your entire back side is likely way weaker than it should be, and you need to jack up these muscles.

Wow, the past few weeks have been quite the whirl wind. I was feeling run down for a good 2 or 3 weeks, but somehow fighting things off. Probably adrenaline. I am pretty wired and can tough things out as needed.
Slowly, slowly my strength and energy levels dropped until I finally hit a wall. I took 2 days off from all my work and didn’t train for a good 8 or 9 days. I have NEVER taken this much time off since age 22 right after I graduated college when I took a good 3 or 4 weeks off from strength training.
Well, I was sulking as I was feeling beat up….until Easter Weekend….
I planted a new tree on my front lawn that weekend. My wife went with her Uncle to pick it out and when they brought it back I was still in serious “sick” mode. The tree itself was a good 300 lbs.
Why so heavy? The roots and dirt made that bad boy feel like a HUGE atlas stone. The roots of the tree were wrapped in heavy cloth. I was so weak I needed help to get the tree out of the truck. From there I rolled the tree up my front lawn.
Next it was time to get the axe and cut the existing tree stump out and dig plenty of dirt. I dug slightly over 2 feet with my wife’s Uncle.
I was totally wiped out after digging dirt and chopping at those thick roots, then power cleaning the tree stump out of the hole and finally rolling my new tree into it’s new home.
It brought me back to my days of spending time with my Grandfather, who lived in Israel. My Grandfather built his home and he planted ALL the trees around his home. He cared for them all, as the sun would set he would begin his care taking and watering of all these trees.

First off, thanks to all who responded to my “personal blog post” late last night.
The responses have been very motivating to me. As you can see, I am very emotionally driven when it comes to training and life in general. If you personally know me, you cna attest to this
I also know that not everyone will be on the same page as I am, and I don’t expect them to.
It does remind me of some very funny instances though, where I was told by a friend and colleague of mine how a big name strength coach was bad mouthing me.

Every Friday our ‘Gladiator Crew’ shows up to battle it out with some intense training.
A powerful mixture of powerlifting, strongman, old school bodybuilding and calisthenics are incorporated. They never know what might come next. Will it be a powerlifting focused workout, possibly tons of old school bodybuilding, or maybe an entire day of body mastery where we use nothnig but their own bodyweight?

If you’ve been visiting my Blog for a few weeks you may recall my old post about our young Football Player / Wrestler who carries a 100 lb sand bag on his back after every workout at The Underground Strength Gym.
Well, as simple as it is, he is getting to be one strong mofo!
His box squats are getting better and bigger….
His tire flips are looking meaner and more explosive…..
His traps are starting to stretch through his t shirts….
His competition is paying the price….
As you can see, it’s the simple things that work, simple, not easy.
The training is gut busting, I will not lie. It’s not for wimps.
It takes a focused mental drive to do what we do. If you want to achieve BIG success in anything you gotta be ready to put forth the work.
If you want to get the edge, think about the ONE thing you can do to change your workouts that can make a big difference.
What is that ONE thing?
Do you need to add tire flips and strongman training?
Do you need to add deadlifts and other powerlifts?
Maybe high rep squats every other week for 20 – 30 reps?
Maybe back squats on monday, zercher squats on thursday. If you wanna be as strong as a house ya gotta build the foundation.
Maybe you need to go crazy every other week with a workout that breaks ALL the rules….carry a 100 lb sand bag on your back for 1 mile….maybe 2 miles??!!
If you know what to do, then stop fussin’ and start doin’.
If you want to know how we do it and how we can help you, then check this out.
Average and mediocrity are not accepted at The Underground. Learn from us and skyrocket your strength like never before.
Dedicated to your success,
-Z-

Wow, I was just remembering a guy who was a grade under me in high school. He was 103 lb wrestler as a freshman and his intensity was amazing. I watched him warming up 2 hours BEFORE his county final match in the corner of the gym with his walkman on, pacing and skipping near the bleachers.
As the years passed he packed on the muscle. Junior year he hit 135 lbs and senior year he was a rock solid 152 lb wrestler. That’s a 50 lb jump in only 3 years time.
When I graduated high school I would train at a great, hard core gym. The owner welded EVERYTHING together on his own. Power racks lined the walls and HUGE dumbbells traveled all the way up to 200 lbs each!
Pull up bars were welded and installed into the cement walls and there was even a main powerlifting rack / platform in the center of the gym. It was awesome, with tires piled underneath a wooden platform to absorb the shock of the weights being dropped! I NEVER saw anything like this.
The gym had great intensity, and this kid, was training there before his senior year in wrestling. He was damn strong for only weighing 150 lbs, that’s right, he was NOT cutting weight, he was rock solid.

I received a call today from someone asking
where the heck to get started with all my training.
I have so many products he was unsure which would best fit
someone trying to get started with my style of training.
This was a great question and we had a few laughs when
he tried to pull one over on me asking if I had something
that would work for a 7’9″ behemoth.
He had me for a second
He also asked if all the people on my site who sent in testimonials were “roided up”. Read more on How to get started with Underground training…
