I have been posting to this Blog for well over a year now.

There are a few names I recognize from the comments, and there is 1 who is ALWAYS joining in on the conversation, asking questions, dropping comments, showing his genuine interest and passion to learn and succeed.

So, while driving home earlier today, I decided I want to reward this person as best as possible….

with a FREE Underground Strength Coach Certification (Valued at $1,500)

Perhaps, once again, we can call this “Pay it Forward”

Never heard me talk about “Pay it Forward”? Watch below….

I have mentioned this before, I will always Pay it Forward, somehow, someway.

In the past, I held an essay contest offering a scholar award to attend The USC Certification for free.

I got pretty f**ing pissed off, when, after announcing the 2 recipients, 1 of the guys who did not get accepted complained and e mailed me stating that he too should have composed a sob story about how he lost his job and his family is in jeopardy.

Ironically, or maybe NOT so ironic, he complained when he was enoucraged to become a member of http://UndergroundStrengthCoach.com (a measly $12.95 / month), to invest in his education and to contribute.

I guess some people can’t help it, they’re just assholes plain and simple.

asshole

I am not holding any contest this time around, not have I ever alluded to what I am doing now.

In a nut shell, I hate assholes :)

So rather than hold a contest and deal with assholes and complainers, I decided to do whatever I wanted to do to avoid the noise of complainers, whiners and cry babies….. oh, and assholes :)

bruce lee kickSo, without further adue, let me announce the man I think has been REALLY Kicking Ass like Bruce Lee and contributing to the Blog and shows true, genuine, hardcore passion to succeed.

His name?

Christopher Reed.

Chris, anytime you wanna come to the Dirty Jerzee and kick ass for a full weekend of training, business, life lessons and plain ol’ kick ass times, you’re invited.

Feel free to bring 2 guests with you :)

You can Pay it Forward by helping out 3 people yourself.

And the 2 guests your bring, of course, they must also Pay it Forward, helping 3 more people.

Our Underground Strength Coach Certification dates are linked HERE - Choose the one you like or await until further dates :)

Let the Pay it Forward cycle begin….again :)

Peace Bruddahs!

PS: Comments or questions? Drop em’ below, and of course, the 1 and only rule, NO Assholes :)

I’ve been under the bar since age 13, that 20 years of iron work baby!

I have found some HIGHLY overlooked methods for packing on some serious muscle and gettin’ strong as hell.

Watch the video & see what I’m talkin’ about.

Drop a comment when you’re done bruddah….

The rest of this workout is coming and it was bad ass!

You don’t have to KILL yourself on the BIG lifts I have found.

What I am learning more and more is to do just enough to elicit a response.

This is what keeps me healthy, keeps me packing on muscle and keeps me getting stronger and stronger.

Drop a comment with your thoughts / questions. Lookin’ forward Bruddahs!

Peace!

I’m here in Louisville, and on the way out here I stopped through Ohio to meet some friends of the iron game, took a trip through Westside Barbell club & recorded 15 minutes of it for Underground members.

jim wendler harley davidson

Above, the custom Harley Davidson of Jim Wendler

I Spent a few hours in the Elite FTS Compound with Jim Wendler and AJ Roberts. Jim showed me his new Harley, hoping this would score him some coolness points, as I have been educating him on the ways of being a COOL Bruddah :)

NO easy feat, but he is learning!

We got to talking training and unleashed hell on how to get stronger, bigger, faster, develop mental toughness, how to optimally train athletes, how to train as you get older, avoiding injuries and tons more was spoken and exchanged, it was AWESOME.

You KNOW I LIVE for the iron game and talking iron is Golden to me!

It was pure gold and I LIVE for that stuff.

westside barbell kettlebells

Above, just SOME of the Kettlebells from Westside Barbell Club

If you saw on Facebook, I posted a few pics of Westside Barbell Club and all the Kettlebells they had.

One Kettlebell was oversized and specially made, shaped like a small stone.

The powerlifters, MMA fighters and Football players there ALL use the Kettlebells for the following:

- prehab / rehab

- strength

- speed & power development

- grip strength

- mental toughness

- improving conditioning and fitness levels

It was great to see the strongest gym in the world staying on the cutting edge by using OLD pieces of “equipment” such as the Kettlebell.

I began using Kettlebells 6 years ago. They challenged me unlike any other training tool I ever used, and they also kicked my ass!

But, they REALLY did push my mental toughness to a new level, and  with regards to “functional” strength, they have been KING.

underground kettlebells backPerforming several movements back to back as I recently did with my athletes, or, performing sets for time, 4, 5, 6 minutes non stop without putting the kettlebells down is also a  serious test of mental toughness yet at the same time develops strength endurance, power endurance and also increases muscle size….

especially in the shoulders, back, traps, hamstring areas.

I call this Hybrid Training, where you mix various movements of kettlebells

Mixed with bodyweight work, it is highly effective for the development of

brute strength, fat loss, speed development and improving conditioning.

The constant swinging of the kettlebell through your legs,

pulling & pushing the kettlebell overhead….

It packs on muscle and helps develop brute strength unlike any other training tool I have ever used.

Plus, you can take them anywhere, as I often do when I want to get away and train in seclusion, I carry them into the trails of the large park near by and perform my training amidst Mother Nature.

Hybrid Kettlebell Training Workouts

A recent Hybrid Kettlebell Workout my athletes performed, mixing kettlebells, bodyweight training and sled training pushed their mental toughness and physical conditioning to a whole new level.

Try adding this Hybrid into a workout:

1A) 1 arm Kettlebell snatch 3 x 5 reps

1B) mixed grip pull ups 3 x 5 reps

1C) ring push ups 3 x 5 reps

2A) 1 arm Kettlebell clean & press 3 x 5 reps

2B) mixed grip pull ups 3 x 5 reps

2C) ring push ups 3 x 5 reps

** THE Punisher **

Perform 1 set of # 3, Below, aka “THE Punisher”

3A) 1 arm snatch x 5 + 1 arm clean & press x 5 reps (perform both exercises before switching hands)

3B) mixed grip pull ups x 10

3C) ring push ups x 10

The above is just some of the ways I perform Kettlebell Hybrid Training.

These WILL build brute strength and mental toughnes beyond what you ever had before.

Try it and make it happen!

 Peace!

Phil Grippaldi

Many people equate circuit training with light weights, conditioning or fat loss.

Not so. my bruddahs. I use circuits frequently AND with heavy weights with my own workouts, and they DO pack on muscle and strength. BUT, you gotta prepare for the pain, because this style of training can get brutal as each set continues…..

The fast pace does boost conditioning as well, which I love, but, take a look at how I crank a circuit below with HEAVY weights.

I wanna hear your thoughts on circuit training with HEAVY weights when you’re done watching.

Notice I didn’t mess around with light, sissy type weights. I ain’t got time for training if it isn’t gonna produce results for me.

I was performing the military press with 150 lbs.

Deadlifting with 365 lbs.

Still…..NOT heavy enough, plenty of room to improve.

Sprinting….well, that’s NO joke when you haul ass, it’s an amazing way to improve conditioning, add leg muscle and improve lower body speed and power.

As the years pass on I see less and less information available on training like a REAL Man. I cringe as more and more magazines hit the book shelves showing useless training with people standing or sitting on balance discs and stability balls.

The departure from heavy, kick ass lifting has sent many men into a testosterone devoid body and a weaker mind. The mind and body are meant to be challenged, and, a stronger mind and body make YOU a much more effective, successful person both in AND out of the weight room.

Question for You: What style of training do you use to push your mind and body to the next level? How are you constantly challenging yourself to “Man the F**K UP”?

In Strength,

Three videos below, from Poland, from somewhere around early 1970′s…..

These are some of the most powerful fitness methods I have ever seen on film.

This is a good amount of video, so please, take your time watching and let’s REALLY get a discussion going in the comments area with our thoughts, comments and questions.

Also, please share this video with your friends and colleagues by clicking on the “sociable” buttons below for facebook, twitter, etc….

This stuff should have had you taking notes and getting your mind rolling with ideas.

Look at those olympic weight lifters, they are world champions some of them, yet they look lean and mean, almost like a hybrid of a wrestler and a gymnast!

They utilize many different forms of fitness training to improve their main focus, olympic weightlifting.

Drop your comments, thoughts and questions.

I think we can crank this and get some more nuggets of gold if you guys drop your wisdom and share with one another.

The goal? 100 Comments. GO!!

Peace!

PS: I am about to hit the road and head home, I have filmed amazing info, much of which will be posted at http://UndergroundStrengthCoach.com where I unleash some serious gold! I’ll see you there!

As you know, i spent some hours on the road, driving from NJ to Kentucky.

On the way I stopped in Ohio, hung out with AJ Roberts and Jim Wendler, and, of course, had to train on the way home so check out the footage I snagged for you guys while in Ohio, training at The Elite FTS Compound.

I also spoke recovery, health and MORE training with JL Holdsworth.

JL actually trained at the original Westside Barbell Club in Ohio back when it was a crowded 800 sq ft garage and I was told by many, that JL was the strongest guy they had ever met.

JL explained it to differently to me though, and said although strong in the weight room was one thing, if he was to get into a street fight he probably woulda pulled every muscle in his body.

Now he is focused on performance AND strength, so health is critical for him, as it should be to you.

When a guy like JL talks, you should listen.

Here’s the short workout I cranked while at The EFS Compound.

1) Flat Dumbbell Bench 115 lbs 2 x 5 reps

2A) weighted dips: worked up to 80 lb chains 2 x 5 reps

2B) weighted pull ups: worked up to 80 lb chains 2 x 5 reps

3) standing rope pulls: 4 x

I was operating on very little sleep, a 3 hr car ride and 8 hrs of driving ahead of me, it was a short workout, just enough for a lil’ “work” and back on the road again.

Got comments / questions about the gym, the video or the article?

PS: Next week Joe DeFranco and I begin recording and will use all the questions you guys sent me regarding the business development questions. This will be a CD, Manual kit, with possibility of video.

robby robinson biceps

My bruddah Jim Wendler is a strong mofo, no 2 ways about it.

I interviewed him for The Underground Strength System and he unleashed info that will transform any weakling into a Beast – ONLY if they put in the work.

I NEVER said getting stronger and adding muscle was easy, it’s NOT.

By the videos below, you can tell Jim KNOWS how to develop a program that builds strength.

After you watch the videos, check out what Jim and I spoke about regarding the development of strength and some old school strength secrets.

Jim and I spoke about how Robby Robinson used to train, and Robby reported that his favorite and most result producing exercises were the following:

- power cleans

- dips

- chins

- sprints in the sand

Can we argue with Robby Robinson, The Black Prince?robby robinson lat spread

I can’t say that I can argue with Jim either, the dude KNOWS strength inside and out.

Jim and I chatted about training hard with the basic core lifts only 2 – 3 x week, and on other days rocking out some Black Prince training, tons of ring push ups, dips, pull ups and sprints or prowler pushing.

These workouts will slap muscle on your entire body in addition to improving your conditioning.

If you can sprint hills or sprint the prowler for repeated sets you will have powerhouse legs and high octane conditioning.

Try supersetting 10 sets of mixed grip chins and dips non stop. Your lats will be on fire even when you’re cranking away on the dips.

In a nut shell, you GOTTA be strong. Strength is your foundation. There is no such thing as a weak dude who is explosive and highly conditioned.

Get stronger and you will:

- pack on muscle

- improve conditioning

- be mentally tougher

Let the foundation begin Bruddahs.

Peace!
