So the kid says to me….

October 7th, 2008
· Filed Under: Announcements · Articles · Success

Yesterday I trained a baseball team.

I had a short amount of time, so we rocked out lots of bodyweight training and then we spoke about the advantages of strength:

- increased speed / power

- reduces injuries

- reduces chances of overuse injuries

- improves conditioning & work capacity

- improves mental toughness

The list goes on and on.

Now, if you were a serious athlete, coach or parent, you would do anything you could to get an advantage over your competition, right?

Well, one kid said, “I’m just not into weights.”

Think about it.

I went to a baseball club, not a team that just anyonce can join… this is a team, hand picked after try outs and applications.

Here is a “serious” kid who isn’t into lifting weights.

This is kinda like the video I made of all these half assers out there who talk a big game but don’t step up to make it happen.

So, here’s a kid who said he wants to play in college, wants to get a scholarship and even go to the majors.

Yet, “I’m not into weights.”

Translated into “our” language:

“I’m NOT into Winning.”

he truly doesn’t want to win.

What are your thoughts?

Kill it!

PS: for those into winning, here is my home study course, you’ll kill it with this bad boy:

One Dude Backs Out, Another Door Opens

October 4th, 2008
· Filed Under: Announcements · Articles · Calendar · Success

With one drop out from The Underground Strength Coach Certification and one new sign up, we’re back to having one spot open.

==> http://zacheven-esh.com/coaching.php

I am shocked at how so many people sign up and don’t even read the page regarding what we will do, what they will learn, etc.

Some poeple are just ready to kill it asap :)

They forget to read about the unlimited support I give them for a full month after the certification.

They forget that I will push them out of their comfort zone to help them achieve more success in the first month after the cert than they have achieved before the cert.

I suggest taking your time, reading the entire page and deciding if you want to excel in training clients, any clients.

These methods can be used and altered for all people, athletes and non athletes.

This group for November looks to be insanely motivated.

We have dudes rolling in from the UK, another one fought through the hurricanes, recouped and charged through and never gave up.

Gaining access to my brain, my blue print, my marketing methods and my thoughts on your current biz will change you for the better faster than anything you’ve experienced thus far.

I am guaranteeing it.

==> http://zacheven-esh.com/coaching.php

Why do I guarantee it?

because I truly care about the success of people who walk through that door on the Saturday morning when we’re about to start.

They’re like me not long ago….

- broke

- passionate

- looking for answers

- confused with all the marketing

- unsure of a training system

- unsure of a business system

- unsure of how to get clients

If you’re an aspiring strength coach, or perhaps the parent of an athlete who wants to help your kid(s), then this is for you.

Looking forward to helping you Kill it!

–Coach Z–

PS: If you’re not an aspiring Underground Strength Coach, feel free to pass this on to another Coach who can benefit from our methods.

Thanks for spreading the word :)

Episode # 32 - THE Rant!

September 5th, 2008
· Filed Under: Underground Strength Show · Videos

I’m not one to rant, but, man, some of these situations seriously irk me.

Why are poeple taking part in life to be average?

I say we set these half assers straight….

What do you think of half assers?

Kill it!

–Coach Z–

PS: Read more of one of my favorite books and was loving the story of the former NFL athlete, how he grew up on the farm, the work he had to do and why he was so damn strong. This book should be in the hands of every serious strength coach and athlete.

PPS: a few spots left for the November Underground Strength Coach certification - do you want in? If so, take action or watch us from the sidelines killing it and developing beastly athletes! Click the “Get Certified Link” at the top of the site!

An inside look at The Underground Strength Gym and Zach Even - Esh

July 18th, 2008
· Filed Under: Articles · Success · Videos

The Underground Strength Gym, located in Edison, NJ, was a gym built off “nuts and berries”.

I literally started this place with less than $ 1,000 and little by little added equipment, most of which is used or home made.

Most people think that in order to start a kick ass Underground Gym would require financial assistance from a bank, a business partner / loan, all types of fancy equipment and 5,000 sq. ft.

The Underground Strength Gym is just under 1,500 sq. ft. I could have stayed in my garage and played it safe while others told me how tough running my own business would be. The BIG difference is that I had the balls to do something about my passion, while other cry, complain and make excuses about it.

I have invested thousands of dollars in Coaching and Education because I know that it is an INVESTMENT. Others call it spending.

Too many personal trainers who want to kick ass fear the “investment” because they feel it is spending.

I have hired guys like Jim Labadie, Alwyn Cosgrove, Ryan Lee and even others outside of the fitness industry, often paying $ 1,000 for an hour of their time.

I understand that my investment will translate into many, many multiples of my initial investment.

I don’t fear, I act. I make things happen, and if I need help, I am not so egotistical to ask for it and pay for it.

I pay for my education, as did my Coaches. I don’t expect FREE advice, handouts or anything else for FREE.

I have bene helped by many, and this is why I immediately e mailed Ryan Lee after he announced he would scholar someone for his upcoming Ryan Lee Boot Camp.

The cost to scholar someone is near $ 1,000, I said so what, I want to give back, to pay it forward, to help a certain someone who has the drive to take action and make things happen, no excuses, no crying or whining.

I think there are far too many complainers, whiners and cry babies out there - want everything for free, or discounted, or adjusted for their pleasure and benefit.

I don’t work with people like that, only with people who want to kick serious ass, plain and simple, and know that it will require work and an investment.

It’s time to look in the mirror, and ask yourself, what kind of person are you?

Kill it!

–Coach Z–

P.S. - The next Underground Strength Coach Certification is on Novemeber 1st and 2nd.

If you want in (I’ll be taking 12 people maximum), go HERE, read the entire letter, and if you are ready to Kill It, e mail me to schedule an interview.

I emphasize, SERIOUS, SERIOUS, SERIOUS inquiries only. No tire kickers, noone just to ask a few questions. This is the real deal. You either want in and are ready to Kill It, or you’re just “thinking about it.” I want people who are ready to kick ass like never before, so if you’re just “thinking about it” then forget it, you’re not the right fit for this elite program.

The last group who went through our Underground Strength Coach Cert. is already killing it!

- Dramatic increases in boot camp numbers
- Beginning boot camps in niche markets
- Opening Underground Strength Facilities
- Training athletic Teams

“Sky’s the limit!”

If you’re in a slump, don’t worry, I’ll help you step it up and make your way out of it.

It’s mind power, and you and ONLY you can control your mind. The mind must be trained, just like your body, if you want it to be strong, powerful, mighty and fierce.

I can relate to you, trust me, I have heard many tell me I can’t do “it”, and what I’m doing won’t work, etc, etc.

Other “Big” names try to stop me, trash talk me and slow me down.

Sorry, there will be NONE of that.

I’m picking up momentum and the best thing I want to share it. I don’t want to keep it all to myself. There are no secrets. What I have learned was passed down to me by others, or, I learned through experience, in the trenches, kicking ass the only way I know how.

Stay tuned, I have some ass kicking stuff coming your way.

A new e course, more Underground Strength Coach Certifications, motivational videos from yours truly and much, much more! Hold on tight, we’re gonna Kill it…..TOGETHER!

As I watched the Gladiators

June 24th, 2008

Yesterday was a hot and humid day in Joisey. We had a few crews of Gladiators training, 5 - 6 in each group. I watched them sprint, jump, rip through kettlebells, sandbags and perform countless pull ups and push ups.

They ripped through heavy sleds, others were jumping rope and others practiced their handstand push ups.

I was in a daze for a few minutes as I watched, and I was proud of what I saw, BIG time proud.

For some reason it brought me back to the times of people telling me what I couldn’t and shouldn’t do.

Oddly enough, I was remembering that very day in high school, asking my Guidance Counselor if he would be so kind as to write me a reccomendation for college. He told me he couldn’t do that for me because my SAT score was too low.

The conversation quickly evolved into him telling me, “Maybe college isn’t for you.”

This paralleled all the times people told me I can’t train athletes with stones, at playgrounds, pushing my truck, etc. People said it was not professional, parents won’t like it, and the naysayers kept going on and on.

Today, I own a small gym, 1500 sq. ft., with athletes traveling from out of state to train here, some over an hour away each way. They sweat buckets and buckets, some run for the bucket, many endure pain and fatigue they’ve never experienced before and continue to push the limits.

These athletes have the eye of the tiger. It reminds me of watching Rocky III, I kept on rewinding the part where Apollo takes Rocky back to his old gym, called ‘TOUGH Gym’….. I grabbed a sheet of paper and started drawing a building, with a sign on top that said ‘TOUGH Gym’.

It was in my head and in my heart, that one day I would have my gym. My rules, no whining, no cry babies. Anyone who didn’t follow the creed of kicking ass and nothing less would be removed from the gym. There would be no place for average, no place for mediocrity.

I always wanted to own my own gym, a hardcore place where people were training harder than everyone else, training to be the best at what they do.

I would travel to gyms all around NJ, looking for the most hard core gyms. I even trained at Joe DeFranco’s father’s old Gym, Empy’s Barbell Club. Wow, this gym was in a tough area where everyone was strolling around with some mean lookin’ Pit Bulls! Not the place to take a wrong turn!

As I drove home last night, after my workout, around 9 PM at night, I felt that knot in my gut and cracked a smile. I thought about myself and everyone else who is told “NO” to dreams.

There are going to be countless times where people tell you, “NO”, people will count you out, they’ll knock you down, they’ll steal from you and blame you for it….

You’ve always got to remember that success is up to you. Do whatever you want, and do whatever it takes to get it done.

If you ever lose the “eye of the tiger”, or lose your “edge”, you’re screwed.

I’m telling you now, that beating the odds and following that feeling deep in your heart, deep in your gut, that is what you MUST do. You have a calling, you deserve to do what you love.

I’m only getting started, there’s a boat load more to come!

Be ready, be ready!

Dedicated to your success,

–Zach–

P.S. - I have a FREE gift for you. It’s new and updated, it’s a powerful upgrade. Use it and make something happen! It’s waiting for you right HERE.

P.P.S. - I’ve got a few kettlebells sitting in my backyard. Time to do some damage. Here’s where I get my Kettlebells, you can get them too!

On a Hot Sunday Afternoon…

June 22nd, 2008

grifback2small.JPG

I pulled up to the gym to drop off cases of water to find two of our most dedicated athletes doing extra workouts on their own. Strongman workouts, that is.

600 lb Tire flips, farmer walks with 220 lbs, log presses with 170 lbs, sled drags with 7 plates…..there was some serious intensity brewing at The Underground!

No one holding their hand, no one urging them to train extra hoping to motivate them to rise to the top.

This was great to see. These guys could have been at the beach or laying around being lazy. And sometimes these are good things, the body grows when resting. The mind needs rest as well. But, the point is these two boys took responsibility and action for wanting to achieve specific goals.

Action is key. Inspired action makes things happen very quickly. It is powerful, powerful stuff.

Success is in their hands, is it in yours?

In Strength,

–Zach–

P.S. -  Have you been on the cuff, wondering if you should take action? Do you want to learn from two ass kicking Coaches to take your personal fitness and / or your business to a new level? Then get busy and make it happen.

Mind Power and Your Foundation

June 19th, 2008
· Filed Under: Announcements · Articles · Success

mindpower.jpg

I’m pretty wooped right now.

I slept just under 5 hours last night, took care of my wife and daughter, trained clients from 6 - 8, then trained myself a brutal 20 minute workout.

Cranking out work as we speak for an upcoming project, and soon, I’ll have a free gift for you…really soon :)

Without mind power and a foundation in training the mind AND body, I would have been done long, long ago.

The mind and body need training to be intertwined.

Before you perform certain movements and styles in strength training you need the proper foundation.

Before you can achieve high levels of success, your mind must be in the correct state.

I am not telling you to climb the ladder of success, if you know me by now, I am a firm believer in speed, so, JUMPING to the top of the ladder is my preferred method.

What about you?

What do you believe in, what actions do you take to make things happen, and, are you truly listening to your heart and gut to make things go you way?

Training the mind and body go hand in hand.

I’m a big believer in teaching both, and this goes back to why I was so unsuccessful in my early days….I never had both.

Now…I have the power, and I want to share it with you.

The best way to get into the thick of things is at my live events, such as the up and coming Gladiator Seminar on July 12th.

==> http://combatgrappler.com/seminars.html

Or, gain 24 - 7 access to me, ask me anything you want, surround yourself with like minded individuals, all at http://UndergroundStrengthCoach.com

You gotta want it, nothing gets handed to you.

Take life by the cajones and make it happen!

In Strength,

–Zach–

it’s going down!

May 5th, 2008

brad.jpgThis Saturday, our LIFT Strong fundraiser is going down.

The competition will be heated and anyone who doesn’t have the eye of the tiger is lunch meat for the rest, it’s that simple.

The training has been hard, but maybe not hard enough. You know I am ultra motivated after seeing DeFranco’s documentary and the recent video I published about “Living”.

There will be lots of spectators, remember, you’re also invited :)
The events will be:
