Underground Strength Show # 22 - Adventures in Baseball

August 24th, 2008
· Filed Under: Underground Strength Show · Videos · Zach's Workouts

Never thought I would be training baseball players when I first started, because in the beginning it was only wrestlers….then a few football players…then a few baseball players….now, it’s ALL kinds of athletes coming to The Underground Strength Gym in Edison, NJ to train with me…

Check out these adventures of field training with baseball players….they can be applied to all athletes!

Strength NEVER discriminates :)

Stay tuned, there are more baseball adventures coming…

Kill it!

How to grab strength by the throat!

April 20th, 2008

loglift.jpgI have spoken many times before about getting people to respect “strength training”.

It does piss me off, to see people whining about not being to get stronger, faster or bigger. I see these same people doing 1 arm dumbbell preacher curls staring at their biceps just like what you would see in FLEX magazine.

I used to read FLEX magazine cover to cover, day and night. I had a book shelf that was at the verge of collapsing because all my muscle mags were weighing it down, bending each shelf to the point of destruction.

It’s easy to get caught up in that stuff, because the photos look so enticing and if you copy exactly what you see you too will get jacked!

Not so, my friend….

If you need a wake up call, take a walk into the woods…sprint through the trails, jump over the logs, carry the logs, squat and lunge with the logs.

The Magic of Simplicity

Have you ever heard of Herschel Walker?

If you’ve read my Blog for the past year, you certainly have.

Pull ups, push ups, sit ups - hundreds and even thousands of reps every day…..

Sprinting with a tire and rope strapped around his waist….

 Hill Sprints…

 Throw in some power cleans…

We have quite the recipe for amazing strength, speed, conditioning and mental toughness….

That is a list of 5 exercises. Work the heck out of them for the next 2 months, or maybe the next 3 months, or how about from now until September 1st? Will you commit yourself to kicking the crap out of those few exercises and working harder than ever before on them, aiming to get an extra rep or an extra 5 lbs added to the bar every week?

The consistency and die hard dedication is what most people lack. So, I say remove the complication and go hard with the list above.

It will work, you just have to put in the time. Plain and simple.

Dedicated to your success,

Zach Even - Esh

P.S. - I have always loved plain and simple. Herschel Walker would have loved This Training Kit!
