The kid who started in his Dad’s garage

Who is that crazy kid who started training athletes in his Dad’s garage?
It started 4 or 5 years ago. There were a few dumbbells, a crappy barbell set from Costco, a lot of rusty Ivanko olympic plates, stones in a backyard, a hill for sprinting near by and a busted up playground 1/2 a mile away where training could be created and had with amazing intensity and creativity.
It was just a small mission, to ensure that other wrestlers never experienced what I experienced. So the research began on how to “correctly” train athletes.
Sport specific training kept on popping up everywhere and it didn’t seem right to me. I couldn’t find information on old school training, so I thought using balls and balance boards would be the way to go.
But the results said otherwise.
The best results came from the calisthenics, the sprints, the stones, the partner drills, pushing my truck and chopping wood.
Fast forward a few years later and there are people flying in from around the world to see how this kid trains others and how he runs his small warehouse gym, called the Underground Strength Gymnasium.
This kid, well, he’s still acting and playing a kid but he’s 33, and he is super pumped because this weekend is the first ever certification course to become an Underground Strength Coach - http://combatgrappler.com/coach.html
Something that grew organically from a little corner in a garage and the nearby outdoors has grown into a world wide phenomenon.
Are we the end all, be all, absolute best way and only way to train? Come on, I’m not that close minded.
There are countless effective ways and methods to use and train. The gist of this story is two fold:
1) I am doing what I love and kicking a-s-s and having a blast doing so. Are you?
2) I had an undying belief in what I was doing from the very first moment, and because of my undying belief and desire noone has ever been able to knock me down. What about you? What do you absolutely, positively believe in?
Better yet…what are you going to do about it?
Make it happen, why wait and why let circumstances control your life?
Dedicated to your success,
