Check the video below. Athletes are throwing weights overhead. I don’t think we need a crying argument here whether this is a push press, military press or whatever you want to call it.
The arguing is for the internet gurus who sit on their fat ass and don’t lift jack shit anyway.
Weakness is NOT good. If you have a weak point, attack it with ferocity. Throwing weight over your head makes you strong from head to toe.
I just interviewed Jim Wendler, who favors the strict press, and we spoke about weak areas and attacking the hell out of them.
Lots of people argue that overhead pressing is bad for you.
It’s bad to be weak, period.
It’s bad if you never cycle your lifts or movements which leads to overuse injuries.
Check out Matty Wichlinski, throwing heavy weights overhead.
We believe in STRENGTH here, what do YOU believe in?
Lead from the Front.

Great videos again. When is the man of steel challenge available?
This dude is insane Hey I will say one thing I will be doing this today…..Going to the gym right after work whis me luck…..
I believe I have no time for whiners!! If you want to get strong you gotta work. Arguing what an exercise is called is a waste of energy.
On my studio wall I have a simple line hand written, “NO CRY BABIES ALLOWED.”
My six year old daughter re-wrote it, on the wall, just so people were clear!
Thanks for all the information you supply Z.
i wished i lived on the east coast so i could train with you and matt wichlinski!!! you dudes are animals!!!! but i make do out here in california but need to eat more like a caveman!!! thanks for the site and the great posts Zach!!! Your an inspirational dude that americas elementary and high school “P.E.” teachers NEED to listen to and follow your counsel closely. YOUR THE MAN!!!!
Zach,
You speak the truth. Overhead is the way to go. The arm chair gurus well they are going to have to deal with it, overhead works. Besides sitting is bad for you but that doesn’t stop them from sitting around and criticizing the few who practice what they preach.
One more thing Matty is a Freak!
Keep Rockn it

Believing in strength?
Well, the plain truth is that strength is nothing that someone has to believe in. I mean is a physical fact: strength; it exist, period. Is a fact, why should anybody believe in a fact?….But…I UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT!
I don’t know why, but while everybody seems to think that being fast is good; having endurance is good; being flexible is good and no questions about it. Strength seems to be a completely different thing in the people’s mind.
I’m envolved in the martial arts world and I couldn’t tell how many times I’ve heard “I don’t want to do legs strength training because it makes you slow”, “I’m afraid that if I lift weights I’ll lose mobility” and other things alike.
WHY?!!
I think I finally got a hint of the answer: pussy gyms. I mean if you sit down in an machine, isolate muscles, work in a very narrow range of motion, and do little or none stretching at all you will finally walk like Frankestein and lift like a little girl.
So, once again I’m with you. Grab a boulder of rock and lift it all the way from the floor to the top of your head, like vikings did to compete in strength and you will get real strength!
z,
that is great stuff !! that matty is the real deal……….. i have only been an undergrounder for about 3 months, but not a day or an email that goes by that i don’t pick up some little something from this site !!!! great job guys
mike house
zach i tried the 15 minute squat clean workout today. upped the weight every 4 minutes. shit was brutal, keep it comin!
da guy in redz a freakin beast!!
and Matt..always finds a way to do things harder goddammit :]
Overhead press is by far my favorite exercise, closely followed by one arm-snatches and one arm deadlift. Funny thing is I’m the only one in my gym doing these stuff. I pity most of the people in my gym because they have no idea about what they are missing on.
A little tip, try squeezing your glutes for the overhead press. But I guess you already knew that coach
Go Hard.
