Strength Coaches with a Dream – F**K YEA!!!
I still remember a BIG name Strength Coach talking sh*t about me when I first began showing my methods on the internet. The guy was, once upon a time, someone I looked up to.
He had multiple facilities around the world and a slew of Coaches working for him. I did find it funny that a guy running certifications around the world with gyms around the world would talk sh*t about a dude training wrestlers and football players from his garage.
It was a sign of his blazing insecurity. Perhaps he saw the fire in my eyes. Haven’t I said you’re either the Hunter or the Hunted? I wasn’t hunting anyone, I WAS hunting my dream though, and that was to own my very own, hardcore gym. One that I could call my own.
I’ve watched other Strength Coaches copy lots of what I do, from videos to web design / graphics and even my personality. I’ve seen other Strength Coaches walk around as if they are entitled to everything. NO respect. How embarrassing it is to see such a thing.
I was certainly the Strength Coach labeled as “Least Likely to Succeed”…..
Problem is, I don’t quit. I don’t stop. I get knocked down and get back up. Again and again and AGAIN.
I’m not slowin’ down any time soon and this is REALLY only the Beginning.
If you’re a Strength Coach with a dream then F**K everyone else and go after it.

Loved this post. I just opened up my facility last Monday (6 days ago) and have used all the techniques from Operation Thunder and Lost Secrets of Strength to promote the place. Have already heard through the grapevine that a very large athlete training facility a few towns over is pissed that I “moved in to his area.” Like you’ve said in the past Zach, I must be doing something right for this other owner to be this insecure about one guy and a small garage.
That’s good stuff brother, keep it up. When I first started training I was doing garbage workouts and I basically learned everything from you, thanks.
any idea how I can do those sandbag exercises in the beginning of the video, I have a sandbag but mines don’t have a handle. should I hold a sandbag with a pinch grip and flip it up and catch it?

I love watching these cert vids! It reminds me of the bad ass time I had training and learning in NJ!!!
Since April I have taken action and now have 3 athletes training 3-4 times a week with me out of my garage and working with a varsity baseball team at a big HS here in Louisville. Also the arm is doing well (I’m the one who jacked up my distal biceps tendon flipping the tire) and looking to compete early next year.

(That’s me by the way…hahaha) All kidding aside, you just have to go after it…plain and simple. Look guys, 3 years ago I started BRIGA TRAINING with a few guys at my place. We just had a few things, but we had BIG dreams! We never had a doubt, we knew we wanted to be not only the best “real gym” in all Latin America, we wanted to be recognized worldwide as great trainers. We dedicated lots of time and money to meet, train and learn from the best. That took us from being three unknown trainers from little Panama in Central America, to training with whom I consider the creme de la creme in the training world. We’ve trained and are friends with all the guys we looked up to, it’s pretty surreal actually! Two weeks ago we hosted a Kettlebell workshop with one of my mentors (Mike Mahler) and to be considered as an equal by guys like that, let’s you know you’re doing something right.
I couldn’t thank Zach enough for being such a huge infuence…and all the guys at the USC Cert…yes, thank you too Garrett! It’s a really awesome experience, not only for all the great lessons you’ll take with you, but the friendships that are forged.
If you give your all, if you’re true to yourself…even when they cast you as an outlaw, great things will come your way.
Go after the dream with all you got, but never forget where you came from and how it started!

You just have to push and push and push. You will get there sooner or later. The problem with most is they give up to soon. I believe Ron White said it best “there’s a lot of quit in that boy”. Remember this in your daily travels, it makes me laugh at what used to irritate me.

Felipe asked a question and I am going to answer it:
Just muckle on to the bag, grab onto the cloth and tear it off the ground, the flip is not required, it depends on your personal preference. Try it multiple ways and you will figure out what is best. A word of warning: using a bag with no handles (those are the ones that I make, because they are cheap and easy)will tear apart the backs of your fingers. Have some tape handy then keep going, your fingers will heal.
