You guys saw my video last week with Joel talking about food combining and how best to combine foods to rev your metabolism to help you get ripped and burn fat.

Watch this video below on how Joel helps his clients utilize what he calls “Strategic Cheat Meals” to consistently burn fat. Joel details all this BIG time in his Underground Nutrition System HERE (50% OFF until Friday!)

Check the video out…

I do NOT want you to lie to yourself here though. Seeing Joel and I having a cheat meal with Pizza and soda after a hard workout is not a regular daily action.

Joel gives you the exact blue print on how you can correctly and effectively utilize cheat meals to get lean and mean.

I’m sticking to a lean and mean eating plan right now and lowering carbs at night. Keeping things strict until the weekend which is when I often take some day trips, etc with my family and Pizza tends to be the normal favorite during 1 of those day trips.

With my busy schedule though, I might test drive some controlled fasting possibly once a week as well.

If you’re on a mission to get lean and mean then take advantage of Joel’s 50% off special offer which ends soon! Click Here for Info.

Peace!

PS: Back when I was a bodybuilder I utilized Joe’s methods of food combining and carb cycling. I NEVER added a cheat meal back then but wish I did as it would have made things much more enjoyable :)

PPS: My friend who is a Cop did was Joel speaks about in this video. Monday – Saturday a very tight nutrition plan and on Sunday he chowed down any which way he wanted and he got seriously Ripped! He still follows this plan!

Ya gotta love bodyweight exercises – ALL of them.

You can do them anywhere, anyplace, anytime.

Push Ups are a bodyweight exercise I LOVE!

Watch the Video below and then I have a CRAZY story for you regarding push ups and other bodyweight exercises….

That’s the end of my quick workout with Joel Marion. It was at the end of a loooong night and Joel has been cranking away with his Underground Nutrition Tips so I KNEW that a fast and furious bodyweight workout would get the juices flowing.

When I started doing Push Ups I was in the 7th Grade. In fact, it was the summer before 8th grade as I vividly recall.

The neighborhood gang was hanging out one night and we all got around to arm wrestling.

I LOST EVERY SINGLE MATCH!

It was f**ing embaressing!

I went home that night and it was around 9:30 PM and I decided that every night before bed and every morning upon rising I would do 1 set of max push ups.

That night I did TWO PUSH UPS!

You read that correctly, there is NO typo there, 2 push ups! I collapsed mid way through rep # 3!

The next night I did 3 push ups, the following night was 4 push ups and I still recall the night I cranked out 7 push ups because the NEXT DAY I finally won my first arm wrestling match!

I was happier than a Pig in Mud! I was getting my ass handed to me for almost an entire week and once I got my first victory in arm wrestling I thought push ups were THE KING!

I’ll keep the pull ups story for another time…

I wanna hear about your experiences with bodyweight training, maybe you have a vivid story as I do, well, step up and let’s hear it!

Kill it!

Training economics is all about utilizing compound lifts to get a lot done in a short amount of time.

This is why you’ll notice the exercises chosen when Body for Life Champion, Joel Marion rolled up to The Underground Strength Gym.

- The dumbbell snatch

- The Dumbbell Clean & Press

- Barbell Cheat Curl & Press

More footage to come, but, till then, check this video out….

I choose the cheat curl so I can work my back, shoulders, traps, biceps, forearms and abdominals.

I choose to rip weights off the floor over seated and lying exercises.

Sometimes pretty just doesn’t get the job done when it comes to training.

Give it a shot and see what happens yourself!

Kill it!

Body for Life Champion, Joel Marion, stopped by The Underground Strength Gym last week to get in a quick workout after he slept 3 hours the night before and worked 12 + hours that day, then took the 1 hour drive north to hit up the Underground!

Nice dedication!

Joel unleashed some killer nutrition info that you guys will dig, so stay tuned for that mid week.

Check the video….

Body for Life was created back in the early 90′s when I was a competitive bodybuilder by Bill Phillips. Man, I used to watch the VHS tape over and over again and get insanely fired up to hit the gym. Bill was “selling” the VHS but he actually donated 100% of the proceeds to The Make a Wish Foundation.

I remember asking my Dad to write a check out so I could get the VHS tape of all the Body for Life winners and man did that tape pump me up.

So, to say it was an honor to have a Body for Life Champion wanting to visit The Underground Strength Gym to train here and share his nutrition tips is an understatement!

Joel and I were super busy, and he was exhausted from working on his upcoming Nutrition Course, so we cranked a short and aggressive workout.

I used an old school bodybuilding technique which I read in Arnold’s Encyclopedia decades ago (yes, I did say decades ago!!).

The technique is called running the rack, but, I broke it up a bit to show Joel the ropes and allow us to move some heavier weights. Normally I would start light and just keep on running up he rack to my heaviest weight and then run all the way down the rack. This works great if you’re a busy person or on a time crunch!

Let me know what you thoughts of this workout Joel and I did (more to come) AND, I wanna hear if you were like me, one of the dudes who snagged The Body for Life VHS back in the early 90′s. How did that tape make you feel? How did it motivate you?

Looking forward to hearing your comments!

Kill it!
