Travis began training at The Underground when it was just a garage gym.
The workouts were furious, in fact, I still miss those days, as do ALL the original Undergrounders.
Travis was 160 lbs, soaking wet and he looked like a little boy.
But he trained with us 2 – 3 days a week and ate exactly as we outlined for him.
He didn’t complain when he had to trap bar deadlift with only 185 lbs for months on end because his back could not handle any more weight.
Today, Travis deadlifts near 500 lbs, benches 340 and squats 405.
In 2 years, he piled on 60 lbs of muscle and walks around at a solid 220.
Imagine having 10 guys like Travis on a High School Football team!
Check out some footage of “T Woods” going through some training at The Undeground and drop a comment below. I always love to hear your thoughts, comments and questions.
You may not want to gain 60 lbs, but what about 10 lbs, or even 5 lbs?
I’ve met too many dudes struggling to get stronger and unable to pack on solid muscle.
It’s time for some Beast Training, no doubt about it.
Drop your comments below,
Peace!

Last fall we had a contest called The Underground Inspiration Contest. It was for members of http://UndergroundStrengthCoach.com
Dave Hall won the contest and as my gift to him he got in for a full ride to The Underground Strength Coach Certification.
Many have asked me if I will be sponsoring peeps again. The answer is NO. I sponsored someone to a BIG seminar last year, a guy who had 3 or 4 kids, worked 5 am – 9 pm and never saw his kids.
2 weeks out he bailed. Tire kickers suck. In the REAL world, you gotta step up and take action.

Last night I organized an ‘Underground Strength Gathering’ at my gym in edison, nj.
I wanted to bring strength fanatics together, as they did in the days of the 70′s and prior to.
If you have ever seen the old photos from Muscle Beach in Venice, California, there were thousands, yes, I said Thousands of people gathered and watched the athletes perform amazing feats of strength, gymnastics stunts and more.
It was an amazing time.

WOW!!! I am honored & flattered.
Joe Kenn, aka “House”, the Head Strength Coach of Louisville’s Football team, formerly of Arizona, asked if he and his crew could visit The Underground Strength Gym as their team pitted against Rutgers University. His assistants were stand up, hard nosed, strength fanatics.
You could tell these guys “walked the walk”, all of them looked to be around 240 and solid.
Guys like this quickly command respect when they run a collgiate weight room, you can tell these men lead from the front. I respect that, BIG time.
“House” rules are that his assistants must do whatever the Strength Coach does – with my back feeling tweaked I knew it would be smart to skip deadlifts, and go with more of a work capacity style workout, but of course, we had to go heavy
This is a lil’ glimpse inside what we did with more to come tomorrow….
I did leave out our post workout meal at a Dirty Jerzee Diner, and man, these dudes know how to eat, well, except for Mike, who feared what came through the revolving doors of The Plaza Diner
Check the vid kids…..

There’s more to come, so stay tuned!

Last weekend I had the pleasure of instructing the 3rd Underground Strength Coach Certification.
Each crew gets crazier and crazier, this crew REALLY blasted through workouts like they were on fire.
The coaching they learned and picked up really made me proud!
I am beyond honored to be in this position and the guys who came here, 2 from the UK, really make me feel blessed.
I put together a highlight reel of their craziness, and much of coursr wasn’t caught on film, but these guys got me BAD with a practical joke that almost had me going BIG time.
So, as many of you know, I am quite the prankster myself so now I must plan my revenge! ha ha
Enjoy the video and post your comments and thoughts below.
Till the next time,
Kill it!
or, as my homeboys from the UK taught me, “SMASH it Up!”

With one drop out from The Underground Strength Coach Certification and one new sign up, we’re back to having one spot open.
==> http://zacheven-esh.com/coaching.php
I am shocked at how so many people sign up and don’t even read the page regarding what we will do, what they will learn, etc.
Some poeple are just ready to kill it asap
They forget to read about the unlimited support I give them for a full month after the certification.
They forget that I will push them out of their comfort zone to help them achieve more success in the first month after the cert than they have achieved before the cert.
I suggest taking your time, reading the entire page and deciding if you want to excel in training clients, any clients.
These methods can be used and altered for all people, athletes and non athletes.
This group for November looks to be insanely motivated.
We have dudes rolling in from the UK, another one fought through the hurricanes, recouped and charged through and never gave up.
Gaining access to my brain, my blue print, my marketing methods and my thoughts on your current biz will change you for the better faster than anything you’ve experienced thus far.
I am guaranteeing it.
==> http://zacheven-esh.com/coaching.php
Why do I guarantee it?
because I truly care about the success of people who walk through that door on the Saturday morning when we’re about to start.
They’re like me not long ago….
- broke
- passionate
- looking for answers
- confused with all the marketing
- unsure of a training system
- unsure of a business system
- unsure of how to get clients
If you’re an aspiring strength coach, or perhaps the parent of an athlete who wants to help your kid(s), then this is for you.
Looking forward to helping you Kill it!

I was cruising through Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ as I got lost heading home from the dentist.
I stopped by a college friend’s skate shop, bought my brother some nice sneeks, then decided to see if I would run into some Rutger’s Football players at the famous Grease Trucks…..
See how lucky I got…..
I found fat bitch, fat bastard, ate a fat darryl (and felt like a fat bastard and fat piece of shit afterwards) and realized why so many college kids become fat bastards when they leave Mom’s home cooking.
Stay tuned for more crazy adventures…

This morning I was drinking my morning shake, which I have 2 – 3 mornings out of the week, other days, I go with “real” food.
My wife asked me if I was going to work out today, I told her I would, after cranking out some computer work, I planned on hitting the backyard for some kettlebell training, and then she asked if the gym was open.
Indeed it was, but only for select few who were invited to train on Saturdays in preparation for Joe DeFranco’s strongman contest. Joe never invited outsiders into his competition except for our athletes, which was last year.
My wife encouraged me to meet up with the crew to train with them, little did she know what we were actually doing, and when I arrived today, I was ready for battle.
As the Coach, I am expected to lead from the front, I expect this from myself and my athletes expect this as well.
I know that my athletes have been trained in ways I wish I knew of, and now, many of them are stronger than me, bigger than me, leaner and meaner than me. Regardless, I will be ready for battle, with little sleep and no perfect anythings, it was “Go time.”
Our plans to train outside were quickly shuffled as the rain began to pour down with no let down in sight.
I quickly adapted and adjusted and set up our workout as such:
1) farmer walk dead lifts: 1 x 5, 1 x 3
2) 600 lb tire flip: x 3 reps (flip, run to other side, repeat, etc.)
3) log bar clean and press: 1 x 5, 1 x 30 seconds, 1 x 5 heaviest weight
4) double Kettlebell cleans w/88′s: 1 x 5 reps – my psyche shot me to 10 easy reps!
5) glute ham raise 1 x 12
6) 45 degree back XT w/60 lbs 1 x 12
I finished with some heavy arm work for biceps and triceps. Getting the guns stronger is more important than many people care to admit or understand.
Strong triceps will push up your log bar military press, the biceps endure a lot of strain when performing farmer walks and when wrestling with a tractor tire. All angles must be covered.
Heavy abdominal training will be included during the week.
Note the low number of sets. Less can be more, when less is enough. More is not always better. We aim to train with the minimal amount of volume giving the maximum return. Some thrive on more volume and they are given free reign to do so. Psychologically, some of these Gladiators need the extra volume.
This workout reminded me of the battles I encountered every workout when I was competing as a bodybuilder. My training partner was a wrestler, I was natural, he was not. Mentally, I refused to back down. I knew this would make up for my lack of physical advantages, and, although natural, my intensity would often times nauseate my training partner and others who trained with me.
As you can see, the mind will be your most powerful weapon.
Don’t ever lose your edge, engage yourself in activities that keep you leading from the front.
In Strength,
