I have been learning like a madman lately.... actually, since 1989! But lately, the amount of new info I am learning is amazing and inspiring me. I am learning new lifting techniques, new breathing techniques and how to take my health and longevity to the next level. I don't want to end up being "that guy" who used to be fit and strong and is now unable to stand up straight or play with his kids without pain, all because I was too hard headed to learn. You Must Learn Learning is the key … [Read more...]
505 lb Deadlift & Random Thoughts On Training Better
Well, here we are. 2015 is about to end and the New Year's resolutions will start sounding off. The best way to resolve to do anything is to take aggressive action NOW. The most successful people out there don't have more time than you or even more opportunity than you do, they simply take more action. For example, I got tired of not moving the weights I wanted so I attacked the powerlifts with extra volume, extra dedication and extra intensity. I challenged myself on the spot and squatted … [Read more...]

STRONG Life Weekend Learning List – July 11, 2014
The image above sums up what the weekend learning list is all about, along with my own quote. Before we kick off this weekend's learning list, I MUST emphasize a GREAT lesson I've learned, especially in the past 2 years but in general, throughout my entire life. Sometimes, these lessons take a LONG … [Read more...]
Animal Warm Ups & Upper Body Training for Wrestling Strength (Bodyweight & Kettlebell Workout)
Anytime you think you're too busy to warm up, think again. Regardless of your age, it never pays to be "too busy" for a proper warm up. Give yourself 5 minutes to hit a warm up specific to your workout and mobilize 1 or 2 areas of your body that need attention. The "I'm too busy" excuse is never acceptable. Even for myself. When I say this BS excuse in my own mind or to others, I deserve a punch in the face. Whether or not you wrestle is also irrelevant. Although the Video below shows some of … [Read more...]
