My gym, The Underground Strength Gymnasium, is connected to an auto garage. On the side of that garage, the owner throws old tires away. Some with the wheel still intact, others just the tire. I snagged a few and helped guys make these tires into sleds. They were happy
Can you build muscle and build strength through the use of things you might find in a junk yard?
You better believe it.
Check out the video below and fast forward to the 1 minute mark. I am not too fond of the partial reps and pump training this fighter does, although he can kick my ass
Many athletes are successful in spite of their training methods because of their high skill levels.
There are many incomplete and / or incorrect training programs, and for any athlete, the partial reps and light pump training is what I wouldn’t want to see, unless it was a deload session.
The explosive work with the tire in this video is some really good stuff.
You can do this with a light kettlebell as well.
Check out the video and pay attention to how you can get in some tire training or any other form of Underground Strength Training to deliver ass kickin’ results.

P.S. – When my athletes stopped following the traditional workouts most people use in gyms today, their results exploded. I want you to learn these methods, either through the up and coming Gladiator Seminar, or through Underground Strength Coach.

Just got an e mail earlier today asking about my thoughts regarding the Lifeline Kettlebells and The Power Wheel.
First off, I will never promo something I do not believe in, or something that you can not benefit from.
I have a few of the Lifeline K-bells and wish I had these earlier. They freaking rock. They do not have a glossy finish, they fit perfectly and the price is right.
The power wheel is a regular in my own workouts as well as our athletes. Lots of handwalks and roll outs, and some of our advanced guys hit supersets of pike ups and leg curls, plyo push ups into hand walks and one beast does standing roll outs!! Ouch!
I have been hitting the power wheel in between most of my sets of big lifts to add volume to my ab training. My abs feel tighter and stronger than ever! This is seriously the most awesome training tool one can use for the abs. Don’t believe me? Oh well, your loss
Keep doing sit ups for 500 reps.
I usually hit the kneeling power wheel for reps in the 5 – 8 range when performing sets throughout the workout due to all the volume. Your abs will be feeling it big time….especially the next day, so start off slowly on these as most people are not used to the great amount of tension the power wheel produces on the abs.
I have many, many, many K-bells from countless companies. I don’t want to talk down on any company, but simply stated, the Lifeline K-bells are getting my top reccomendation.
You will also see a short audio I have just done interrogating Jim Wendler, where we chat about the release of his upcoming training manual which is an awesome manual, especially for busy guys, or, point blank, anyone who wants to get strong! I have received a preview copy and loved it. It has brought me to a new light, especially since I am busier than ever before.
Until the next time,
Stay strong!

When I first began setting up shop in my new home, in my 2 car garage, I was starting fresh. A brand new life of weight lifting. No more lame gyms, crappy music, depressing environments and finally, NO more rules!
The energy was awesome, whether I trained alone or with a friend, it was like being in Heaven, I can only imagine
This got me feeling like I was starting my training all over again, age 13, back at the OLD Metuchen YMCA. It was a hardcore place, lots of rusty York olympic plates and barbells, pull up and dip bars, an OLD York Isometric Rack, round head and globe dumbbells from York, and a bunch of guys who loved to train.
I was rereading many of Arnold’s books till the late hours of the night and often times the morning, 2, 3 and 4 AM….. Books such as his ‘Education of a Bodybuilder’ and I had my subscription to FLEX magazine which I would tear through over and over the second I got it in the mail! I was practically stalking the mail man awaiting my trustworthy FLEX magazine.

With the busy times hitting me hard, there is no fear. Most people would give up and skip workouts entirely.
I’m simply gonna grab a little piece of my 2 car garage back. It used to be filled entirely with gym equipment, all my Underground tools. Now that I own a gym, my wife took it over
I have a few Kettlebells in there now, and will bring an old curling bar to the garage and 2 olympic dumbbells so I can load them up with 25 lb plates for some heavy duty Underground Bodybuilding.
Now, you might be wondering why the heck I’ll be using a curl bar?
