I’m pretty wooped right now.
I slept just under 5 hours last night, took care of my wife and daughter, trained clients from 6 – 8, then trained myself a brutal 20 minute workout.
Cranking out work as we speak for an upcoming project, and soon, I’ll have a free gift for you…really soon
Without mind power and a foundation in training the mind AND body, I would have been done long, long ago.
The mind and body need training to be intertwined.
Before you perform certain movements and styles in strength training you need the proper foundation.
Before you can achieve high levels of success, your mind must be in the correct state.
I am not telling you to climb the ladder of success, if you know me by now, I am a firm believer in speed, so, JUMPING to the top of the ladder is my preferred method.
What about you?
What do you believe in, what actions do you take to make things happen, and, are you truly listening to your heart and gut to make things go you way?
Training the mind and body go hand in hand.
I’m a big believer in teaching both, and this goes back to why I was so unsuccessful in my early days….I never had both.
Now…I have the power, and I want to share it with you.
The best way to get into the thick of things is at my live events, such as the up and coming Gladiator Seminar on July 12th.

Ya gotta love these…they’re FREE and they get you freaking strong!
My motivation all began when I visited the tire yard in town, and I spent about 30 seconds wrestling a tire to flip it over, which damn near killed me. Then, the “Tire Yard Freak” walked up, took a few puffs of his cigarette, threw it down, and flipped the tire 3 times in a row….no knee lift, ALL power. Just a pure FREAK!
His strength shook me up and woke me up. Why? Because he wasn’t a guy “lifting weights” in the gym, he was throwing tires, flipping tires, carrying tires.
Does this mean free weights are obsolete? Heck NO, come on, by now, you know that I am not someone who believes something is the end all, be all secret weapon, but, these damn tires will be a great addition to an already ass kicking program.
Go get some!

My wife was watching FOX news a few hours ago and I caught a few minutes with her. I’m not a big news watcher, too much negativity for me.
The interesting thing that caught my attention was the guest they had on the show who was the founder for the NAAO, National Action Against Obesity.
The newscaster was trying to make her feel bad about the entire airplane seating debate for being obese and how some people are big bones, etc, etc.
ALL the excuses were raining down and MeMe Roth stayed tough and pretty much said, “Hell yea, people should be stigmatized if they are fat and overweight.”
The newscaster closed out with a weak comment, saying, “Well, you’re lucky you’re skinny.”

At one point in time, my “gym equipment” was very little, and it all fit into the back of my SUV….with plenty of room to boot
I used three training tools and if I was limited to these 3 things I would still be able to develop bad ass athletes and awesome strength, power and conditioning for myself.

Come to my gym and you’ll see us using many training tools:
- barbells
- dumbbells
- thick bars
- sandbags
- kettlebells
- sand filled medicine balls
- anvils
- stones
- sleds
- ropes
and of course, bodyweight….
But, one thing that has been a huge factor in developing strength and power endurance is the use of two critical training tools and the endless variations that come with them, and these tools are …. Read more on Training for Gladiators and getting CRAZY Strong…

About 15 years ago I was training a bit with a Navy SEAL. He was in Israel at the time, but eventually came to the states.
His training regiment was brutal.
Three days a week he ran a good 10 km or more. My brother would run with him since he was in the military as well, in a unit called “The Cherries”. He told me these were not jogs, but all out races and “Joe” was out to win, every single time.
The other three days Joe would swim a good 30 minutes. Sometimes a pool swim, other times the ocean.
Then, on evenings, Monday – Friday, Joe and I trained together. But, he was always there before me, and always stayed after me.

I was at a coffee shop one day and the guy working there saw my Underground shirt on. He told me he saw us on you tube, heard about us, saw us in the paper.
He told me he was trying out for the nearby minor league Baseball team, but he never made the cut the year before. He was a skinny dude, no doubt, so, I asked him, what are you doing now to change that?

Laird Hamilton is a beast of a man. He surfs waves that would sink huge cruiseliners, he defies the odds and might be seen as a God in the ocean.
Ironically, we have ourselves a modern day Laird Hamilton tearing it up at The Underground Strength Gymnasium.
At 6 feet 5 inches, Kurt Gregory started out as a super skinny guy just looking to dedicate himself to the shape he was once in. A devout surfer and a regular on the Basketball court, Kurt’s body was already in impressive shape. His strength was not very impressive, and when you’re 6′ 5″, moving big weights is tough as hell, because you are moving the weights over a very long distance.

People thought I was crazy, then again, people still think I’m crazy.
Back when I was first training athletes in my garage, and even before I had a garage to train them in, our athletes were getting brutally strong without ever doing the tried and true barbell back squat.
How could this be? Super strength without the KING, squats?
I didn’t own a barbell, but we did have plenty of other “things”, and Mother Nature was our natural gym.
Then, I made myself a sandbag, 100 lbs., from an army – navy duffel bag.
