Look in the mirror, dig deep…

As the world becomes a busier and busier place for so many of us, it seems that rather than think for ourselves, and do what is best for us, too many people blindly copy other materials.

I'm talking about copying someone else's workout, rather than take bits and pieces of what works for you.

I'm also talking about the endless information on the web. Watch me write about a topic and rather than a fellow strength coach create his own idea, he takes the words right from my pages without his own heart written words.

I talk about both of these scnearios because if you want your training to truly be meaningful, you must create a style of training that works for you, not your friend or others, and, it must create an emotion that allows you to lose yourself and find yourself.

If you've been following me for a while, you may recall my often written articles on how my training takes me to a world where noone else can bother me or interfere with my thoughts or actions.

It may take place in my gym, or a run down playground, or a remote and quiet area of the huge park near my house where I can see and hear nothing but the animals roaming through the woods.

Perhaps it has been my past that drives me to find solace in my training as well as training amongst the elements - in rain, snow, cold, heat and all outdoor areas.

What I write and how I train is an expression of who I am and what I have experienced in my 32 years on earth.

I want you to find a way to make your training meaningful as I do. Without training I might as well be deemed insane.

For those reading, I hope you learn from me, copying will get you nowhere...inside and out.

P.S. - There are 5 spots remaining for the early bird special of my upcoming Gladiator Seminar with Steve Maxwell on July 12. I hope to see you there 🙂

P.P.S. - Last year I held a strongman fundraiser because my mentor Alwyn Cosgrove is THE BIGGEST reason as to why I run a successful gym today. We are doing it again this year and it's titled after Alwyn's project, LIFT Strong.

The date is May 10 and it will be at my USC Gymnasium at 12 PM. Feel free to stop by and watch the festivities. Feel free to make a difference HERE as well.
