Picking up from where we left off.
More often than not, the same guy asking "How hard is too hard?" with regards to training is the same guy coming up with excuses for doing the work.
"Oh, I'm deloading."
"Oh, I'm following _________ program."
The fear of work is not just killing the ability to get jacked and strong but shyt, it's killing people's lives. If you fear work in the gym you likely fear work in LIFE.
You're "that guy" who doesn't want to climb the ranks at work, you're perfectly fine with status quo and don't like being tested or challenged.
Here's my thoughts on pushing yourself both in AND out of the gym:

There is NOTHING wrong with digging deep and pushing yourself to become MORE than you currently are.
Nothing wrong with unleashing your inner Beast. It will go against science and go against the fads out there in the "fitness industry" but f**k it. DO it.

Let me know how you feel after you leave the gym and killed your workout.
Drop a comment below. I won't be shocked to hear that you felt like you could kick more ass in life as well. THAT is why you must train beyond the science. What we do here is not just about the muscles and your body. It's about your mind. It's about LIFE.

The gym will be closed tomorrow and im only home for 4 days before i go back to the drilling rig for 11 days. So i crushed a 2.5 hr workout with pretty much everything but Legs and shoulders today and KILLED it. Tomorrow a bodyweight workout in the morning followed by a trail run in the woods, the trees are beautiful right now here around the Houston area. Do Work!, Can Do 4:13
Trail runs are amazing for peace of mind, body and soul!
Right yesterday work was crazy and I almost went ballistic on some things. But I got my head down, did what I had to do and then left for my workout. It really saved the day, doing a partner workout with 2 other guys, carrying each other on a 300m run, doing buddy squats fireman style.
I didn’t think about work during the workout and left in a way better mood.
sometimes we need rest, other times we need to simply do the work!
This is great Zach! I have your BWBB and Gladiator Project. But, the last 6 months I’ve just been going through the motions. Pushing 50 and started hitting it hard last Sunday and every day since!
Brian, set a goal to be better at 50 then you were at 40! Drop a comment and let us know the big goal(s)!
Strict press and bench press has always been my weakness. Ive recently started doing some seated dumbell presses to help strengthen my shoulders for the strict press. For my bench, I try to mix my grip when benching and do lots of tricep accessory work along with lots of plyo pushups and even some supine ring pullups. What would you suggest to increase a strict or bench press?
Matt I began benching more with various methods
so rather than adding dumbbell benching, etc I did speed bench, rep bench and max effort bench
I also added band triceps on a more frequent basis as louie simmons recommends
