Upper Body Blast & Training Mental Toughness

This blog post and video will fire you up to crush an upper body workout and to start attacking your training the same way ya gotta attack life.

I seriously see NO other way to be, whether it's life OR lifting.

This style of training keeps my mind in check, pushes me mentally and physically, reminds me that I CAN kick ass and go BIG, regardless of what is happening the world. The gym is a place of sanctuary.

In life, to succeed at anything, ya gotta be TOUGH. That is why I train for Strength, Size and at the forefront, TOUGHNESS. Blend ALL 3 together.

A weak mind is a WEAK man.

Here are some of the exercises I rocked in this Video:

- Banded Bench Press: worked up to a heavy single and then dropped weight and did 3 more sets of MAX Reps.

- Doing my "assistance" work with the same exercise but lighter weights and more reps has proven to be very effective for me, but, like all things, I am sure it will come to an end and a change will be needed.

- 1 Arm Dumbbell Rows. I did these for sets of 5 or 6 reps and my final set was a 15 rep set. I explain WHY and HOW in this video.

- Bent Over Dumbbell Raises. These might be bodybuilder-ish but they are critical for strengthening the upper back which boosts your deadlift AND your bench press.

Not filmed was the direct arm work, ab work and sleds.

I am looking for someone who wants to help me film my own workouts as well as some of our athletes workouts. You don't need to know film, you can learn it easily. You just gotta be reliable, honest and passionate.

YES, you get paid. I would need you to film 2 morning sessions a week, around 9 am and 2 afternoon sessions each week, 4 and / or 5 pm. Film with raw, uncut footage, kinda like this:

  2. I’m starting another rugby season this weekend – s I’m just switching from preseason training into “in-season” training. I just got a sled, so I’m breaking it in, too.

    Hope you get someone for your internship. Awesome opportunity; wish I lived closer.
