Why are athletes, especially young athletes consistently hurt and injured?

I've seen some shocking injuries and an alarming number of injuries.

Lots of "rolled ankles", "I hurt my back" and then some serious injuries that require surgery.

I think back to the 80s. I don't recall anyone rolling an ankle.

In sports, I want to make it clear that there is NO way we can ever eliminate injuries, but through intelligent training and intelligent application of sports, we can greatly reduce the injuries.

This Video is for parents, athletes and coaches of all types.

Watch, take action and share with others.

We must spread the education.

One of the problems we have is that private "sports performance" facilities, and I sue that term loosely, do NOT have educated coaches.

We have these "trainers" mindlessly running kids through cones and ladders. Nothing is done to strengthen and fortify the body. No strategy is implemented when looking at kids who are on multiple travel teams, how to build these athletes and make them more durable to withstand the strains of their sports.

In the video, I ask:

The writing is on the wall, Loud and Clear!

These kids are NOT strong enough to handle the endless sport demands. These lack fundamental GPP.

Here's a snap shot of some training from The Underground Strength Gym.

Kids need to get strong. They need to sprint and jump. They need to blend a variety of methods together to build overall athleticism and full body durability.

There is NO such thing as weak and successful.

Note that in the video it's NOT ALL sprints, or ALL Kettlebells, or ALL cone / hurdle drills. We want to develop the total athlete, not just fall into the fads and gimmicks.

We ALL must get better because the kids deserve GREAT Coaches.

If you're a Coach, invest in yourself and get better.
