As you know, i spent some hours on the road, driving from NJ to Kentucky.
On the way I stopped in Ohio, hung out with AJ Roberts and Jim Wendler, and, of course, had to train on the way home so check out the footage I snagged for you guys while in Ohio, training at The Elite FTS Compound.
I also spoke recovery, health and MORE training with JL Holdsworth.
JL actually trained at the original Westside Barbell Club in Ohio back when it was a crowded 800 sq ft garage and I was told by many, that JL was the strongest guy they had ever met.
JL explained it to differently to me though, and said although strong in the weight room was one thing, if he was to get into a street fight he probably woulda pulled every muscle in his body.
Now he is focused on performance AND strength, so health is critical for him, as it should be to you.
When a guy like JL talks, you should listen.
Here's the short workout I cranked while at The EFS Compound.
1) Flat Dumbbell Bench 115 lbs 2 x 5 reps
2A) weighted dips: worked up to 80 lb chains 2 x 5 reps
2B) weighted pull ups: worked up to 80 lb chains 2 x 5 reps
3) standing rope pulls: 4 x
I was operating on very little sleep, a 3 hr car ride and 8 hrs of driving ahead of me, it was a short workout, just enough for a lil' "work" and back on the road again.

PS: Next week Joe DeFranco and I begin recording and will use all the questions you guys sent me regarding the business development questions. This will be a CD, Manual kit, with possibility of video.
PPS: I've had MANY dudes roll through my USC Certification and only a few months later, POW, they are living their dream and have opened their own high profit - low overhead gym.

JL is a BEAST! He is still a monster sized dude even after he stopped competitive powerlifting. He has some good guys that he is training over there as well.

They say you are a product of your environment…. That environment produces monsters!
Coach Z!
That video was POWERFUL! Lots of big strong dudes there- wow! Dunno if anyone else took a look at the other vids that pop up too but check out “Minx” deadlifting 350# and bench 265# F#CK sick!
A lot of neat gear in the gym too. I especially liked the pulley rope system; that reminds of the scene in Rocky 4 where Stallone is pulling the rocks to the top of the barn…awesome functional sh*t. More over it just looks like a fun place to bust some a$$ and get some sick results.
Thanks for the content Coach!

wohh love the enviroment!
love the point about focusing on performance and strength…
got a question regarding hamstring develpment, what would be a good bodyweight exercise for it, besides lunges and bodyweigh squats, and without the use of any weights or any odd objects…i would really like to see a video on posterior chain development
well Z keep the content up! You are killin it man!
Peace

The pulley is pretty cool cause if you don’t have high ceiling you can do them sitting down. I try them and they work great.
that pulley from the ceiling was awesome!
and yes JP, JL is a beast – that dude was seriously jacked.
I think we get to a point after we’ve been lifting for so long, so hevay, we want our health!
I want strength and health 🙂

for hamstrings I use the glute ham raise very often, but you may not have that.
Use movements like swings and deadlifts and lunges to crank those hammies
keep me posted!
