I've shared something with Strength Coaches I consult with on the regular, and it's something simple yet unfortunately, not everyone does it.
What is that "thing"?
It's called Doing the Right Thing.
What does this mean?
My gyms have simple membership options.
3 months & 12 months.
And an issue I would run into some of the time, very rarely, is when someone pulls out of their 12 month membership early.
This means they've payed the much lower membership option and instead of sticking to the 12 months, they bail out at 4 or 6 or 8 months. We DO have an early cancellation fee, but guess what?
I NEVER took it. I NEVER enforced it.
Mom and Dad don't want you at The Underground? Fine. I don't want your money. To me, that's what I call dirty money. It's money you're getting that you NEVER earned.
I cancel the membership and I'm done. The person on the other side gave their word that they are IN for 12 months. They bailed out and I did not.
Someone gets injured at The Underground and parents want to CX membership. We cancel immediately and I either refund the remainder of their month or when they return, I give them the same time back without being charged.
DO. THE. RIGHT. THING.
Ironically, I was listening to a podcast with Naval and how he made his first riches. He mentioned that it was either the first or second time he lost the majority of his money was when a partner stole from him.
This is a very common scenario, which is always strange and confusing to me when a partner gives up and sacrifices friendship for money. Let me tell you, it's more FUN building, creating and earning money with friends / partners than it is to do so alone.
Do the right thing.
Don't steal from your partner.
Don't take what isn't yours.
This is certainly an aspect of the abundance mindset but ultimately, if you didn't earn it, it's not yours.
