Sooooo many people struggle with getting stronger and packing on muscle.
To be straight up honest, most of those cry baby - whiners simply train like P**ies. Point Blank ๐
You gotta get under the bar, push heavy iron and eat clean, like a caveman.
Watch this video of me tearing it up (watch out for a few old school bodybuilding poses in there!)....
I'm almost 34 (yikes!!) and I'm still pushing the limits. I even enlisted the help of my Harley ridin', crazy mo fo bruddah, Jim Wendler to help me organize my training program along with some help from the muscle nerd, Jeff Anderson.
Ya see, I've been training since age 13! NO Breaks, no lay offs or time off.
Sometimes you need an outside perspective on taking the next step, even after 2 decades of throwing around iron.
Jim is helping me get strong(er) and Jeff is helping me specialize in adding some lean and meanย muscle - I'm a Deadly Weapon, what can I say!?!?!? haaaaaaaaaaa
I'm tweaking my nutrition to lean out, I've lost 8 or 9 lbs and am gunning to get down to 205 or so.....I'll be a straight up Gladiator.
Whatcha think of the video?
Drop a comment for me, show the luv, kids!
Do you have strength building or muscle building secrets?
Let me know below.
Also, Jeff Anderson is organizing a ton of tips over HERE - if you have a muscle building tip, add your tip HERE and you, along with everyone else who shared a kick ass tip will have them orgnaized together.
It's gonna be Bad Ass!
Peace!

PS: Oh yea, I have a crazy video coming soon on how to achieve ALL your wildest dreams and goals....it's gonna be BIG on mindset, which is REALLY what helps me WIN at everything I do. It's my freaking kick ass attitude.
Not enough peeps have the RIGHT attitude - so, they always have excuses for this or that, next time / later, yadda, yadda.
NOW is the time to kick ass, not later or next time.
You'll be hearing lots of mind set info coming from me, because it's not enough to be strong in body, you gotta have a powerhouse attitude as well!
PPS: My Underground Strength Coach weekend is a mastermind with training, business, mind set and more. I reveal everything to you, and give you a DEEP glimpse inside my success and how you can replicate it.

Always the best quality info with a no nonsense approach
I hear what you say on the attitude. If you let a lot of outside sh*&t bring you down it will. It seems to be a constant battle between me and the rest of the world. Everyone out there trying to tear you up. Gotta rise above and kick some ass.
Thatta boy!
Way to represent the fit fadders;-)
Keep on rockin my man!
I really enjoy what your doing Zach!!!
Hi Zach
Has Jim set you up on the 5/3/1? It’d be great if you could elaborate on the training a bit.
Also, any news on how the business audio with Joe D is coming along?
Cheers
Dan
Come on Zach you can push it harder!! Just kidding good effort, keep on cranking it out!
Zach,
Love that overhead lifting! Great stuff!
One thing that works great (if you’ve got great form) is to do three sets (2-3 reps)of each of the following: (sorry this is long)
strict press
push press
split jerks
jerk dips
Increase weight each set or at least on each new lift.
Push heavy weights, none of that fly-weight high rep crap. (I personaly would stop just long enough to change the weight before doing the next set, but I always train that way. You become capable of doing what you train yourself to do.)
On the jerk dips, you load the bar up to about 100lbs. more than you could strict press. Maybe even more once you got toughened up to it. Take the bar out of the rack, dip down and drive the bar up as high as you can. If the bar gets to about eye level the weight is about right. If it goes over the head it is too light.
You will have to really crank on it to drive the weight up to eye level when the bar is loaded heavy. Then the bar will come crashing back down. Catch the weight with a quick well timed knee dip to absorb the shock. Just don’t dip down too far!
You will need a solid rack position when catching the bar or you will lose it to the front. Front squats are great for teaching the proper position to rack the bar. Olympic style front squats, not the cheesy bodybuilding style with the arms crossed. If you do deep “O” style front squats and the bar is not racked properly you will fall or lean forward and end up dumping the weight to the front.
You may only get one or two reps on the jerk dips, but that is OK. Chances are really good that after a month or two of these, your beginning push press weight at the start of the program will become your new strict pressing weight.
Last time I did this I started with a srict press of 3 with 135, push press with about 155-185, split jerks with 185 to 225 and jerk dips with 245 or so.
About 8 weeks later I was strict pressing 185 for a solid 3 reps and doing jerk dips with 315. At one point, after a full workout and a short break I tried the 315 again and got the bar about 8 inches over my head. If I had dropped into a dip like a split jerk I probably would have locked it out.
However, the jerk dips are tough and unless your racking ability is solid with the bar right against your body and shoulders and your torso is strong, don’t do these. They are brutal. If your back gets sore you need to work on your torso strength and stability more before doing these. A small amount of jerk dips goes a long way.
With jerk dips you need to be ready to either dump the weight or, after the last rep, be real close to your power rack so you can easily put the bar back into the supports. After that last rep you will be a hurtin’ unit so you won’t be able to take a couple of steps up to your power rack without losing the weight.
You can take a little more rest between sets if you like.
Use at your own risk…Ha ha ha.

Big Dan Eagle, Joe D is finishing his Built Like a Bad Ass program and then we will begin.
He was getting overwhelmed w/all the work and his gym, etc. – so we decided to wait, BUT, frigg it,I’ll e mail him now and push him to make it happen earlier ๐
–z–
Joe, U also gotta:
– surround yourself with great people, and create a mastermind group
– read / listen to things that empower and educate the mind
– get thick(er) skin
– invest in your education for business, training, mind / success principles
Joe, now is the time for you to push for greater success, I think this is an awesome time for you and Big T!

Zach,
Love the Double Bi shot…vintage.
Kudos to you for being smart enough to stack the weight back on those last 2 reps. Some guys would’ve probably dropped the bar on their head in stupidity.
Mike
Another awesome video. I love the military press myself. I saw in the background you had a seven foot log bar. I recently just bought myself a five foot log bar for my apartment. It is my new favorite toy. Keep up the great workouts and posts. Thanks.
I have just started to get into fitness, I am following lots of advice from around the net and this really helps, thanks.
