With my injury in my ankle and achilles I was doing some slower, heavy lifting workouts. I was hitting PRs and very focused on the moving big weights in the squat, bench, deadlift and clean.
But, I wasn’t satisfied. I wanted MORE intensity, MORE pain, MORE discomfort.
Because THAT is exactly where I find my comfort. I find my comfort in the DIS-comfort. It lets me know I am alive. It reminds me that I am STRONG and NOT weak, physically and mentally.
I am having a very difficult time dealing with the passing of The Warrior. I have many regrets and I am trying not to let them eat me alive.
So I am letting my intensity in the gym serve as an outlet, as I always have since way back in 1989 when I began working out in my brother’s room. My gut instincts tell me to train more and to train harder.
As always, listen to your gut instincts. If your mind and body tell you to do more, then step up and crush your training.
