I train very much by feel, allowing my emotions to drive me. If I'm feeling fired up I wanna rip into some heavy barbell work. If I'm feeling in a soul lifter type mood, it will likely be lots of bodyweight and outdoor training.
Here's a bit of an angry day, we ALL have em' ๐
Question for You: Let me know what YOU do and HOW you train when you are having "One of those Days."
I am psyched to seeing your comments! ha ha
Peace!

Anything over 300 is a good Zercher. Good job especially at your BW.

When it is “one of those days” for me, heavy deads get it done like nothing else.
I get in the woods on my bike… and seriously, almost always end up going over the handlebars… almost
Your bad day fired me up man! Have some more of them (or not), but keep the vids coming bro! A heavy loaded bar for Back Squats for max reps always does the trick for me. Peace out.
for me, i have a couple of thangs that make it “1 of those days” when i remember all those times that certain people tell me that i cant do what i love, and i NEED to conform to the corporate world … that gets me FIRED UP like nothing I have a mat that I just go to work on in muay tai and krav maga … OR something else people say and get the heavy bar for shoulder press. can’t nobody talk to me in that state of mind
“FIRED UP”!!!…..Z you got me FIRED UP!! I just turned around and picked up my dinning room table with MY TEETH and started pounding out squats!!!! FIRED UP!!!!
Get the heavy bag, feet, hands, knees, elbows, head butts. See it(whatever it is ) and go,smash it till theres nothing left. Get a bar with a good weight and do full body sets,Squats,Bent RowsShoulder Press,Uprights, Bench Presses,(something like that!)No rest straight through till you cannt move, just about perfect!
After these sessions, it all doesnt sem so bad!
Holy crap how much were you lifting there? Were those 45lb plates?
What I call “one of those days” is actually days that I sucked at the workout ๐
But there are 3 possible reasons I could be angry when I’m working out (which is most of the time :)and in order of the anger level they are:
1.) I’m mad at the weight or the bar itself. Like if I don’t get the # of reps in a set I wanted to, I start going at the weight itself saying “f*ck you, you piece of shit, you think you can stop me, f*ck you, nobody can stop me, you’re gonna die you little sh!t” and then I attack it, I know it sounds crazy :p
2.) I’m mad at myself for sucking at the previous workout or not following my diet precisely enough
3. ) and this is the worst one, if someone pissed me off that day…oh boy, that…I don’t know how to describe that, I’m just looking for trouble on those days, people are just avoiding me completely and I’m screaming, roaring and VERY close to injuring myself.
Last time I had, “one of those days,” was when the guy who mowed my lawn cut down two of my beloved cherry trees. I had only 15 minutes to work out so I did this…
10 50 lbs KB snatches, each arm
8 towel pull-ups w/40 lbs on my back
14 ring dips
8 more pull-ups
14 ring dips
…Twice. REALLY FAST!
Nothing beats deadlifting when I am mad. Grip it and rip it!!!
I have one of those days every day a work. Looking at all these FAT bodies I’m surrounded by. In my line of work you have to ready for anything. This is the fuel in my fire
kicked ass on deads this morning. lower back sore so I think my form got sloppy. came home and watched your video and feel like I didn’t work hard enough!!
Hey zach, where do you get all of your equipment from? Do you know any places to get really cheap new equipment? Nice job on the video as always.
When I’m p@%$d off I pummel the heavy bag and push my prowler till I’m ready to puke.
When it is one of “those” days…I take my heavy bag and do various throws and slams. I then beat the crap out of my skidder tire with a sledge! Simple, basic and KILL IT until it is no longer one of “those” days (usually 30″-60″)!
Best f’n video ever brother.
“I never said my way was the best, but if you’re in my way.. I’m runnin you over!”
I would get that tattoed to my forehead but I’m ugly enough as it is. Way to inspire as per usual Zach
Prowler. It teaches everybody how to calm down.
…just like you bro…I squat/bench/deadlift heavy n’ good…so I earn “souvenirs” that turn my body into a walkin’, breathin’ “training diary”
OH HELL YEAH!!
Got after it COACH! Psyched me up!
Im going to go train, keep kicking ARSE!
When I’m having one of those days I go straight to the homemade sandbag. I get to chucking it around like its a body it something til I can’t lift it anymore
Thats the way to hit a session, loved it. Get these attitudes everyday in the gym and they piss me off. Great to see Zach puttin it out there the only time your work is done is when you’re been lowered into the ground. keep pushing!
controlled insanity is how i always train love the force of anger to get sessions completed with heavy weights and objects..
dont train when im totaly full of rage as it not safe for me or others near me.
the incredible hulk wains in comparison when i have a rage attack which is about 3 to 4 times a year when that happens need to be left alone in silence
I run sprints and then pound on a tractor tire with a sledgehammer or throw some heavy rocks around. Awesome!
…and way to take a stand for the DE-pussification of the human race
“All you need is loud tunes and a heavy barbell.” Well put my man! Great video with a fantastic exercise!!
Yo Z!
On “one of those days” I like to rip into sh*t hard and furious. Tire Flips, Kettlebell Throws, Punching Bag (stand up & ground and pound), Sledgehammer work and finish of with some Oly’s and sprints.
I basically beat the living crap outta myself until I either cry, puke or can’t move.

If barbell, deadlifts and squats. An alternative, sandbag training – as many reps of a movement as possible in 30 seconds, then 30 seconds rest. Throw 20 different movements together, one movement per set, for a total of 20 sets. Different types and variations of squats, snatches, cleans, overhead presses, lunges. Curl up in fetal position when done.
On a bad day usually I take a half hour to foam roll and warm up in silence. It clears the noise in my head. Then start the music and get work done. Hooray for lifting with MY equipment in a barn, alone.
