Man, if there is 1 thing engrained into my DNA, it must be that I LOVE to train hard & heavy.
But, lately, I've been straying away from the heavy barbell, rocking the dumbbells, kettlebells and bodyweight a lot more.
I'm feeling healthier, and still strong as a mofo.
It doesn't make me feel good when my back is so f**ked up that it hurts to change diapers.
As I grow, I evolve.
Does this mean I will never touch a barbell again? Hells NO!
I still use them, but I am finding "other" ways.
Check out the video below...
The complex above is one I sometimes hit, and often times heavier, like 225 - 275.
Lately, the dumbbells and kettlebells have been getting abused by me 🙂
Till the next time, Kill it!

great example zach! complexes definitely rock, time under tension. tried a similar thing yesterday with one of my clients. he was short on time, so with such a complex you get a lot done in a short time!
Zach-
Thanks for the tips and the workout! I have been working out for about six years now- started when I was 49! (I know, a very late start)
I have always been thin- but was getting a little gut back in 03, so I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week ever since, with one year in Baghdad, working out with the troops in the gym at the Embassy.
My question is, what do I need to do to put on muscle, in my arms and shoulders. I have added some over those six years, but the progress is painfully slow. It takes months and months for me to add a half inch to my arms or chest!
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
Nice complex, Zach! I’ve been rocking a few complexes myself lately… Power Snatch to Over Head Squat and Strict Pull Ups to Knees To Elbows. But man, your complex of FIVE different exercises has me thinking of some crazy combos now! Thanks and keep killin’ it!

Great video!…I love the multi-movement with the trap bar, one of my favorite bars…I help train my son and a few of his friends from the high school football in team in Cornwall, NY…We do alot of heavy weight training in the garage and also strongman training in the garage and outside…I always like to hit the kids with some fresh new stuff…Thanks!
Awesome looking workout. Where can I get that bar without paying an arm and a leg for.
Nice!
Coach Z-

Yea Zach! Every time I watch one of these videos, I wanna drop everything I’m doing and hit the gym –
That workout was nice! I did the whole complex as a circut and allowed myself about 1.5min of recovery and really felt the pump!
If I did a routine that I believed worked would you like to sample the routine? I have a killer kettlebell routine!
WOW I can’t wait to rock that complex next week. I love doing multiple movements back to back like that because I’m all about it hitting hard and heavy but quickly as well. Keep pumping them out brother
dudes, the real man program is used w/dumbells and bodyweight
the bonus videos have dumbbells, bodyweight and some trap bar work
most gyms have them, if not, try elitefts.com
adding muscles to shoulders???
– barbell or dumbbell clean and press, heavy 1 arm side laterals, handstand push ups and of course, the indirect work from heavy pressing moves!
Word up big Zach! Z comin atcha from sunny UK! Been too long since the UGC! You know that those heavy complexes are going to kick some serious ass! A bit of weight + a decent amount of reps = size gain while maintaining strength at the same time. Always good to learn some new tricks. Cheers bro.
Keep SMASHING IT!!
The original Coach Z! haha…
Looks like fun Zach. Loving the complexes as time is always against me. I’ll be smashing that one next time I’m due a deadlift session. All the way from the U.K, Dan F
Hey Zach,
Just viewed the deadlift complex, …awesome!
Will be doing those my next training session.
You’re The Man!
