Arnold was the FIRST mentor I had as a young teen. I was a lost soul who only wanted to become a bodybuilder and all I could think about what working out & being at the gym. Every book I opened up had a FLEX magazine crammed inside of it.
I read his book, The Education of a Bodybuilder, for 3 years straight beginning my sophomore year in high school. Arnold was the FIRST person that hammered home the fact that the mind controls EVERYTHING - those lessons about the power of the mind learned some 20 + years ago inspired me to write my first ever article, for Arnold, HERE.
After you read my article, check out 2 powerful (and my favorite) videos from Arnold where he describes MORE in detail, about what it takes to create success.
You'll quickly notice, it's NOT groundbreaking information, it is simply a matter of DOING the gut busting work necessary that others are all too often NOT willing to do.
Check these videos out.... they CAN change your life IF you are willing to RUN with the information and put it to Use.

These 2 videos should have hammered home what it will take for you to create your OWN success.
There will be MANY naysayers. I saw it immediately in the comments of my article. So quick were the naysayers to point the finger and make excuses about why Arnold or anyone else is a success. I made a video, HERE, describing how to bulldoze through the negativity and the BS.
It's the excuse makers who smash their own dreams.
Someone told me today, that a certain someone "carried" me and helped me achieve the success I have today. The only person who "carried" me is ME. I have learned from MANY but my learnings came with a price: financial, time, commitment, work ethic, etc.
Develop the mind, it is your most powerful tool - period.

Excellent stuff, big Z!
Very good article you wrote there for Arnold. You can feel it, it comes from the heart – that is always what counts more than anything else. You hit home with some points that simply have to be mentioned again, again and again. Same applies to Mr. Schwarzeneggers six rules. In fact – that audio should be listened to first thing in the morning. Every day, …
Now, I never was into bodybuilding nor will I ever be. But since my highschool days I was always active but never got pushed enough to really find the reaseon WHY to train, why to do certain things so that you can come closer to living a life more closer to its full potential. It wasn’t till I was in college that I found an answer to this question and got heavily into boxing. Man – I lived boxing every second and every minute of the hour and every hour of the day. Of course I was to old then to start any meaningful amateur career in that sport – but that wasn’t important. Looking back I started training for life back then. I loved the smell of the gym, the dust of that place, the feel of the gloves and the excitement and fatigue before a match or a wicked sparring session.
The ring and the gloves taught me more about life than anything else I can remember during my time in college. And to this day I use that knowledge. It’s basic knowledge but it has to be applied steadily with a vengeance. Work beats talent – every time. Remember that when the beating gets down hard on you and walk through it. You’ll be stronger the next day.
Peace out

Thnx, Sven, I DO wish boxing was as popular as it once was. SO many lessons to be learned in commitment to a pure sport like boxing, just like wrestling – they teach U to train for life
Awesome article Z!, But I am not really surprised on the stupid comments some have left on your article.
The internet is filled with “tuff guys” and experts that “Know” the “Truth” and the “Science” behind it all. But will never back up what they say or claim to do, the power of the internet I guess… power? well the power to say or do what ever they want and not find out how hard it is to pick up their teeth with broken fingers (a quote I got from a guy that I have once worked with).
Lanny
Lanny, hey bro, I am not surprised either.
BUT, even the nice guys, have that excuse maker, point the finer attitude.
They say they don’t have the genetics, or it’s all drugs, etc. – the MIND is the MOST powerful tool.
The naysayers can stay, but I wanna help those who are truly trying and need a lil’ direction!
Oh no doubt Zach.
The ones the NEED the direction (me included obviously) just need to read your articles. They are written by a man that has been there and can back everything with his hard work and efforts. The ones that need the direction, the motivation that push would be insane to pass what you write bye.
You are right, everyone makes excuses. Its the ones that say ENOUGH and just get it done. Every time I am beaten up enough to contemplate an excuse, I manage to get my a$$ outside and coax myself to just do a “few sets” by that time you feel great and crush your workout.
