Check out this rare video done in the Pizzaria next door to my gym.
I talk about how my business started, my early influences, my lack of money, my first time Tire flipping, how I got my first clients, grip training, kettlebell training, rope training and sandbag training.
Enjoy this video and drop a comment on your questions and thoughts. I am psyched to see what you guys have to say about this kick ass video!

Z, very inspiring. One day I am going to get over from the UK and want to train with you.
great stuff Zach! videos like this inspire me to work harder and rip up giant sand bags! and i’m happy to say your training methods work big time! i was grappling one of my buddies in jiu jitsu the other day and kicked some butt! he admitted that after about a minute of rolling i win because my conditioning is better than his. thanks bro!

Z,
Listening to you talk just reminded me that I can’t wait to start working my own gym from the ground up. You basically proved that you can start from just about nothing but bodyweight and odd objects, and by advertising to a young motivated crowd. Keep the good word spreading. Thanks.

killer interview bro! I could not agree more, I gotta bust out more videos of the training going on to show you I will get on it!
Zach, cool history lesson.
Five dollar workouts? That’s awesome. Way to utilize anything and everything in your early workouts.
Would love to train like this just to see how I would do…
Great interview. Can`t wait until you finished your pizza for part 2. Like Rob from UK, one day I will come across the sea to workout with you!
Keep being authentically!
And of course strong!

Coach Z,
I love this origin story! It’s nice to be gettin’ advice from a bradd’ah that had to crawl from nothing in order to become the man. I myself am in the same hurt locker but I am digging my way out slowly and putting in the sweat equity that will help me to be successful. Always good to look forward and see someone (you) leading the way! Keep it up Coach!

Zach,
I’ve been crazy busy with the day job and taking care of my family. I just got over to your blog and watched your pizza joint vid and read your story on your son being in the ER.
I too am dedicated to my two daughters and wife and you continue to inspire me to go back to my roots ( I turned 44 on 7/21) and dig deep to find the strength both physical and mental to push through and make my family proud. My Dad died this year but he lived the physical life his entire 77 years. He was a diesel mechanic with a grip like iron and 155 lbs of twisted steel. He worked his arse off physically and always focused on providing for his family.
To hear you talk of primitive old school methods of strength training, using anything in your enviornment to train with…it’s a thread we have in common. I remember making a makeshift sled with an old lifting belt connected to a chain with a car tire loaded with bricks and doing sprints in the tumbleweed in early August at high noon circa 1982 back in old South Plainfield.
It’s awesome to know that there are many of us out here that get the fact that we need to be physically and mentally strong. Keep up the good work and thanks for what you do.
Chris P – hey bro, sorry about your Dad, I know you were taking care of the fam big time the entire time.
Keep lifting and focus bruddah, i dont think it is ever 2 late to make it happen!!!
