share

Here we go in part 2 of what will be a 3 part series.

What is better? The Trap Bar Deadlift or Conventional Deadlifts or Sumo?

Well, as I always say, It depends!

I explain why it depends from both a physical and mental / psychological standpoint in this video.

Here's a good ol' Saturday where some guys are on the Trap Bar Deadlift and others are on the Sumo Deadlift. Again, it all depends WHY they are doing what they're doing.

So many people telling me @ray__jaz is a BEAST. . Here’s something that you need to understand, Ray began training here the summer before seventh grade, he has never stopped training with this intensity since day 1. . That’s 10 years of consistency & intensity both in & out of the gym. . The way Ray trains every day for 10 years is what most people do for maybe a week or three months. . You are crazy if you think you’re going to get the edge over your competition by skipping meals, going to bed at 3 AM, checking your cell phone every five minutes when you’re training, and overall being like everybody else. . If you want to be great it’s going to take the greatest effort of your life. . . #undergroundstrengthgym #undergroundstrengthcoach #GymBeast #deadlift #wrestling #scotchplains #manasquan #strengthandconditioning #undergroundstrengthcoach #relentless #unstoppable #jerseyshore #livethecode365

The Summer time for MOST sports is the off season or pre season. The timing of each deadlift variation is crucial. But, on the flip side, we don't get TOO carried away, which in turn only develops fragile athletes from both a physical and mental standpoint.

Athletes need to believe in themselves and FEEL strong & tough. Treat them like special snowflakes and they will perform like snowflakes.

Mindset plays a VERY crucial role in performance.

When an athlete starts to over think everything or perhaps the Coaches overthink everything, it backfires on the athletes.

We must still train to be dangerous in mind, body & spirit.
