2 Pieces Of Wisdom To OWN The Day

There are those who rise above and make it to the top and there are those who always toil in mediocrity.

Those who are stuck in the land of mediocrity have what I call a "Lack Mentality". They don't view the world and everything around as abundance. They think everyone owes them something, they think everyone stole from them, they think they created this and created that.....

Let me tell you, as soon you become an arrogant dickhead, you stop winning in life AND lifting..... any anything else for that matter.

I have 2 pieces of wisdom to offer you. It has helped me achieve success in Life AND Lifting for a LONG time and I ain't about to stop.

  2. This is definitely one of my favorite videos.
    24 years later and you’re still learning. That is really inspiring Zach. When you said “certainly there are those assholes that we don’t want to learn from” it hit me that in life we’re always learning from those around us. Whether it’s family, friends or the general public, there are so many who could hold us back if we let them. I had my confidence destroyed as a kid and rejecting these types of people has helped me so much. Thanks for being real and helping keep me/us on the right track Zach.

  3. Right on, very well put Zach! I still hear the voices of my wrestling coaches from High School when I’m ready to quit…..and that was 20 years ago!

    Keep it up and hope to get up there for one of your Certs soon!

  4. Love it, Zach. I was just thinking about one of my former Kickboxing instructors who pushed me for five years of my time training.I like the idea of pre-fatigue in my workout… definitely going to try it.

    1. Just be smart with it. As U know, this is for advanced athletes with the right mindset in place

  7. Get comfortable being uncomfortable! Since I was 21yo and told I needed my knees replaced and handed a bottle of pain medication I wouldn’t squat deep. I believed all the hype, but one day I said, “They are broke! Can’t break broke! Nothing to loose!” So I started training deep. Made adjustments and kept training.
    Got my arse to your cert, and hated spending the money but I knew I had to. Busted my ass to get my business rolling. At times hard, and I really wanted to go the easy way, but I stuck with what was in my heart. It is slow, but it is on go! Wanted to train Olympic lifts with my athletes, and knew my knowledge was limited, or from books and video so I paid to go to a USA Weightlifting cert. Two day cert about 3 hours away. I drove home and back each day plus 8 hours worth of classroom and lifting. I had to do it! Every Sunday I drive 45 minutes (2 hours in Jersey time) to train with an Olympic coach out of his garage. He has 40 years of Olympic lifting knowledge under his belt. Every time I go I learn something new.
    I bought the books you told me to buy, and read all three. Love Them!
    Nothing will ever come if you don’t have the heart to work for it. There was a tattoo that a former powerlifter had on his chest (name slips me) “Do Not Demand What You Are Not Willing To Take By Force”.
    I love metal music, but sometimes I have to crank Rick Ross “Hustln” to get in the mindset.
