The more years and Decades I put into training and coaching, the more I realize and learn that it keeps coming back to STRENGTH. I am not talking about Strong & Useless. Strength requires Speed. And, speed requires strength. They DO go hand in hand.
For Adults - we focus on Strength and Movement.
As we "get older", the body begins to lose.....
Lose Strength.
Lose Muscle.
You MUST fight against weakness.
And, the best way to fight weakness is with STRENGTH.
You can not go wrong with good ol' 5 x 5 - the tried and true blend of strength and size.

The Iron is the best antidepressant I have ever found. There is no better way to fight weakness than with strength. Once the mind and body have been awakened to their true potential, it’s impossible to turn back.

And of course, since I mention the legend, Bill Starr, in this video, I want to share with you the origins of 5 x 5 training. Bill Starr and his book, Strongest Shall Survive is part of the origins.
I WISH I came across his book in my high school wrestling days. I hope that by sharing all this information that I can help others sift through the BS and get straight to the source of the best information for tried and true Strength & Conditioning.
