Dangerous-Men

Let me warn you that the language in this video is NOT WFS (Work / Family Safe).

Those of you who "get it" understand that when you are doing something with intensity and passion, there are times you need to go to a "dark place" and do what must be done to face your demons.

This holds true for the gym and for life.

I always tell you, life and lifting, they are one and the same.

I explain how things have changed and why I train the way I train at the age of 39.

I explain why biceps and a bigger chest don't motivate me anymore and why my BIG motivation is to remain "dangerous". I take inspiration from many sources, especially the Tier 1 Military units and a few close friends.

If you at all care about more than your biceps, this Video is for you.

QOD (Question of the Day):

What are YOU doing in your life to remain dangerous?

I’m training for Kokoro 36. Stay dangerous my iron brother.

    1. Just like training for life. Get it, Brian!

  2. Mario Platt says:

Sir, you did it again. I’m copying your last sentences on this and will be reminding myself every morning.

“I spent enough of my life losing, and I will never go back to those days again .And that’s wy I fucking fight when I’m here training. I fight not because to what it does to me physically but because of what it does to the mind. Always remember: worst thing that can happen to me is that you’re no longer dangerous. Choice is yours. Be dangerous or just fucking be a pawn in life.”
That’s proper ethos and it really hits home. I’m making this my new mantra
Thank you so much for this vid. Really needed to hear this

    1. Mario, thnx, brotha just speaking from the heart!

  3. My Dad served in the Marines during WWII and the Korean War. He told me, you give your life for your country the day you swear in. He survived both wars, thank GOD. He always had “the edge” until the very end.
keep that edge is a way of life, not a technique.
even way back in history, you see guys who stayed dangerous throughout their entire lives.
Two of thd most dangerous men who ever lived were the ancient Hebrew warriors, Joshua and Caleb.
Caleb still fought hand-to-hand well into his eightys.
Reading what men like this have done helps me to stay dangerous.

    few

    1. Frank, I need to read more of what you’re reading!

      1. Z, these guys are part of your Israeli heritage, how cool is thzt! Joshua commanded the army after Moses died.
Caleb was one of his best warriors.
It is cool to read of their military achievements.

  4. CNS-Cut Nutsack Syndrome! Ha, I will not be forgetting that one Zach! Train Over…Great lesson and thanks for sharing!

    1. Warrior hated hearing all that talk!

    Gidday Mate
I just had to comment on your video. I have now been following you for a few years now and I thanks you for introducing me to Mark Divines Unbeatable Mind Program. Between the 2 of you you have shown me the path to having the confidence to believe in my own abilities. I will turn 60 in a few weeks and after competeing in 100 mile and 100 km trail ultramarathons using conventional training with all of your unconventional training has built a bullet body again to be able to cope with the challenges I set myself. As I look at 60 years of age in the eye I realise that how I live these next 10 years will dictate what happens as I grow older. I really believe now that if you dont set limits on yourself there really are no limits. Easy to say and very hard to really believe. It takes time and work including warrior yoga and meditation. To be sustainable without pills and medical bills. To be a warrior in my own way. I hope I am living the code in the way that you would be proud of. I am not a power lifter but a runner who lifts and swings KBs. I am small and light but strong. As you say Zach my race number is 247365.
I wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Christmas
    Cheers
    Gerard

    1. Gerard, you are a fucking animal!!!

  6. Zach, got absolutely stoked watching the video. I’ve had a couple of setbacks in the past few years, and they created a kind of vacuum that made real progress impossible.

I’m halfway through your book and just started following your Facebook page, and it’s given me some invaluable perspective on lifting and hardening my mindset in general. I’ve altered my workout regimen (actually a lot of your ideas were ones I was daydreamed about trying; like you spoke of in your book, though, I got blinded by all the bodybuilding articles and remained bulky but weak), and I’m pumped to be hitting either my backyard or box at work every day.

Thanks, man; there’s no reason for going back to being strong and useless. Hope you and your fam had a great Christmas. Peace!

  7. Gary Larrison says:

Hey Zach, it is the old man Gary who took the UG cert. about 7 years ago in Austin Tx. What I learned more from that Cert. than anything else was what it felt like to work hard, put your head down , not complain and listen. That was an eye opener and the moment we met I felt a connection, you were and are the real deal, no frills, nothing fancy but just either get in the gym and start cooking or get the hell out! At age 72 I still work hard to be dangerous, my motto…never give in, never give up! Thanks Zach.

  8. Patrick Fitzmaurice says:

This is exactly why I train . To remain dangerous to know that if the time should choose me I will be ready .I am 65 I am still working as a CFD Paramedic Chief, I never want to be the guy who fails to help save a life even it means giving up mine. My gym used to have photos of pro athletes. Now they are gone replaced by photos of Warriors SEALS ,RANGERS MARINES & other Tier One Apex Predators . They inspire me to never let up to be ready any day to give whatever it takes .. Thanks for the Remain Dangerous article and video
