STRONG Life Podcast Ep 163 hosted by Joel smith of Just Fly Sports.
In this round table I was able to share the floor with 2 of the best in the industry, Jeremy Frisch and Jorge Carvajal.
I've been involved with youth athletics before I ever owned a gym or even started the garage days of The Underground Strength Gym.
My experiences have taught me so much and this podcast brings a lot of my experiences into the light. Being able to express our experiences and thoughts on this podcast makes it that much more powerful.
Not many people understand what youth and high school athletes need. It's a crucial period for the kids both physically and mentally and we've got way too many egos involved which creates POOR coaching for kids.
Too much "mandatory weight room" being run by unqualified coaches.
Too many parents seeking "speed school" for their 7 year old.
It's time to get this information out to parents of athletes, coaches of athletes, administrators and supervisors of sports teams.

Satisfaction is the death of desire! How true is that in today’s society. Especially with the younger generation. My daughter (junior) and son (graduated) go to high school where this is the norm. The team sports at the high school had the worst finish on record. Not one single team finished above .500. Most only had 1 to 3 wins all season but they accept this. It frustrates the hell out of me. My kids push themselves and try to be leaders but get shot down for being a “try hard” and get drug down with the rest of them. Most upperclassmen get discouraged by losing and end up quitting. Forcing inexperienced and undersized underclassmen to fill their spots at the varsity level. I’ve talked to the AD and Principal and they blame socio-economical issues are the problems. Yes, poverty might be a little higher but that doesn’t excuse them from putting in the work to get better. The school has an amazing fitness center and the gym, track and fields are always open to practice on at no cost to the students. So you can’t blame cost as that as the problem. It’s a lack of desire! Not sure how you get that changed. Defiantly won’t change by the time my daughter graduates. Very sad.
Chris, I am challenging YOU to make it happen, brother.
Do you have a garage gym?
Take my programs or your own if you have, train your kids and any of their friends.
Do NOT wait for a Coach or anyone else to give your kids an opportunity or permission to be GREAT.
Start a club and become the Change!
From there, I hope other parents join you & support you and the Positive change will over turn the negatives and the excuses.
Please keep me posted!
