Training doesn't have to be perfect for it to work. This has always been the essence of "The Underground" - I never followed the so called "Rules" of training.
Inspired by men like The Barbarian Brothers, Dr. Ken Leistner, Dave Draper and Zuver's Gym, I knew the strongest men were always paving their OWN way.
Often times, the imperfections are better because they train the mind AND the body as one. They force you to cope with the "resistance" that is more than just the weights.
The body often needs to be shocked into growth. Comfort is the enemy.
My methods are NOT perfect, they have flaws, but guess what, so does every program. In my opinion, I prefer the tougher workouts. It must be the old wrestler in me.
The flaws are beautiful. The challenges are to be sought after. Be grateful for the tough times, because anything worth achieving is worth fighting for. I remember Arnold talking about squatting in the woods with his friend for 50 sets until they could no longer walk, let alone squat.
Sometimes you just gotta attack your training without the perfection. You'll thank me for it when you experience this yourself.
See for yourself.....
This NO Rules Underground Strength Workout entailed:
- 200 reps of mixed calisthenics / leg work
- Finished with 80 lb walking lunges, BONUS for using the York Globe Dumbbells.
This is FAR from perfect training but it works: strength, speed, muscle gains and work capacity blended together.
Weak people will always criticize the strong people. I learned this in the world of training and business. You see the negativity and the complaining coming from the weak and unsuccessful. Especially with "social media" which is often not very social.
I'm not merely talking about weak from a physical stand point, I am talking about weak minds and weak attitudes. Many people can squat, bench or deadlift more than me.... but they are weak in life... always complaining, ranting and running their mouth with negativity.
Don't be "that guy".
I ain't got time to be weak.
Drop a comment with your latest "NO Rules Workout" and thoughts on being STRONG for LIFE.
Looking forward to seeing how you kick ass with your training and life.
