Plyometrics & Jump Training for Explosive Power

share

The common myth or misunderstanding is that if you train heavy and get stronger you will be fast as hell. Not so, at least not to the best possible extent. To move like an athlete you must incorporate athletic movements: Sprints, Jumps, Crawls, Climbing, etc in ADDITION to heavy lifts as well as explosive lifts with resistance.

Check out 2 Football Players cranking some timed jumps for power endurance and some long jumps for power development.

Train heavy, train hard, jump fast, jump high!

Here is an older book from 1980 on jump training and sports performance, written by U of Maryland legend, Frank Costello.

There's plenty more of these books to add to the list! Use the search bar to search for my favorite training books.
