I am getting more and MORE hyped on Bodyweight Training. I feel GREAT attacking the calisthenics and with warmer weather especially, it is perfect for training outdoors to rejuvenate mind, body & spirit. The cold is not to be feared either, the Russian athletes often trained outdoors for a warm up and fresh air on a regular basis. You can see it in the Video below as well. I have been hunting for better playgrounds all around NJ since 2002. Sometimes I bring a kettlebell and mix the … [Read more...]
The Power of Deadlifts and Dips

BRUTAL Bodyweight, Sandbags & Kettlebell Workout
I often find myself looking for a tough workout. Something to give me a good ol' gut check. My fear of becoming "normal" or "just like everybody else" worries me BIG time. On this particular day I got to my Underground Strength Gym nice and early to test my mind and body. … [Read more...]
Good Times Lie Ahead
"Better to Live Your Dreams Than to Dream Your Life" The USC Cert is a life changing weekend, for those who attend and for myself. I get to meet hungry Strength Coaches.... hungry to turn their passion into profits with a burning desire to leave behind a life that feels unfulfilled with a job that makes them miserable. Been there and done that and it damn near killed me. I am NOT a believer in "Just Do It" without some planning and a strong foundation. I DO, however, believe in … [Read more...]

LOTS more video footage to come! We raised approximately $3,600 and this was our BEST turn out with the BIGGEST donations. I am beyond GRATEFUL! Passion, Got Some?
If you let your passion slide then you might as well be dead. Question for YOU: Have you let go of something that you were once passionate about because of some Bull Shit excuse? Step UP & get it rolling again. Be accountable, drop a comment, tell the world what you're gonna do to bring your passion back to life again! Peace! --Z-- PS: When I was 13 I KNEW I was gonna open a gym.... a hardcore gym..... I NEVER let the dream go. When I was in elementary and middle school I was die hard for my … [Read more...]
Express YOself, Part II
Do what you feel & feel what you do. I was definitely feelin' the urge to move heavy objects on this day. Kettlebells have been feeling GREAT and have helped my shoulder feel 100 X better! Almost every workout has some form of windmills or bent pressing involved, whether it be the warm up OR the workout, I work those Kettlebells! My focus on Bodyweight Strength is on a whole new level lately, I'm pushing hard to get the muscle ups down, on the bar AND rings. Back when I had college … [Read more...]
A Day in My Life
Not EVERY post on this Blog will be about lifting. I don't think lifting is the end all be all, perhaps you've heard me use the phrase, 'Kick Ass in Life AND Lifting'? If not, read the book HERE! Here's a bit of my day and how things are rolling for me lately... I've had a slam packed day and normally I do more work, but today was different. Many ask me how I get so much done and still have so much passion and energy on top of such a hectic schedule. Well, # 1, I focus on my passion, … [Read more...]
Unusual Strength
I remember a few years back, training 2 wrestlers, 2 of our strongest wrestlers pound for pound. They had to wrestle against one another and when I asked how it went, one of them told me that he had the most unusual strength he ever experienced. A grip that stopped him dead in his tracks and along with power and conditioning that would be the envy of ALL wrestlers. That "unusual" strength came from our unique bodyweight exercises, kettlebell and odd object lifts. My training is becoming more of … [Read more...]
