I had a GREAT time on The OPEX Podcast with my friend, Robbie Bourke, 1 of the most passionate Coaches & students of Strength & Conditioning I have ever met. This podcast gets deep as Robbie asks GREAT questions (as always). I don't think I've ever gotten this deep into my thoughts on the strength & conditioning profession as well as the details of how I train athletes today vs 10-15 years ago. Below is a timeline of everything we discussed on The OPEX Podcast. … [Read more...]
“Different Training” for Strength, Size & Toughness
Yesterday I was so fired up from reading a newspaper article about Karate Legend, Gary Alexander training harder than most people half his age at age 81, so of course, I HAD to try it myself. Gary Alexander was a Karate instructor where I grew up in Edison, NJ in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. Today, he is in his 80s, STILL training like a madman. Here's his current regime: With scuba fins on his feet, Alexander does 100 laps, mostly on his back, alternating with freestyle strokes. The … [Read more...]

Old School Gyms & Building BEASTS with Minimalist Equipment & Training
It's interesting...... As I am about to write I say to myself, Who's even going to read this? Barely anyone. That's OK. I NEED to write about this. It's therapeutic for me. There's no "hook" in writing this article because like the majority of my articles, I will write about the same message: Hard Work Sticking to the Basics Squats, Deadlifts & Basic Barbell Work Being Tough That's OK. I have ZERO desire to fit in to this world let alone this "industry" - which I … [Read more...]

It's not solely about the numbers. It's about clearing your mind and experiencing what we call Iron Therapy. … [Read more...]
