In a nut shell, here is a list of common themes that were given if you wanna kick ass & take names: … [Read more...]

Why Your Training Must Mirror Life AND Sports
There are MANY ways to train. MANY training methods are highly effective and trust me, MANY are horrible on even their best days. It all depends on HOW training is being implemented and is the training being done at the appropriate time and place? When I look at training for myself or when writing programs for others, I look at their goals and what life looks like when they perform. Nothing complicated, straight, simple and to the point. I am NOT impressed with the Coaches who TALK fancy. I … [Read more...]
I’m Just Passionate
I'm extremely passionate about everything I do. I have NO clue how it all began but as long as I can remember, whenever I got into something, I went full force and gave it my all. I've noticed that being passionate gets you into trouble sometimes. "Normal" people call me crazy. Passion and Genuinely Caring for the success of others is something that is in my heart, I can't be changed and I can't be stopped. This week has been an amazing week of opportunities. When your shoulders have issues, the rest of your body will suffer. Trust me. Been there, done that on MANY fronts. Back in high school I remember feeling like someone was stabbing my shoulder with a knife every time I perform the dumbbell press with the elbows out. I had half a brain and tested elbows in and it worked. In my mind 20s my brother and I wound up wrestling and I was in a precarious position and refused to let go. The result was a tear to the rotator cuff. It was so painful I was … [Read more...]
Learning The Olympic Lifts, Part II
One of the toughest Olympic Lifting exercises for me to learn (STILL learning, ALWAYS learning!) was the power clean. Some of my problems were common problems for other aspiring Olympic Lifters as well: - My wrists were extremely tight - My shoulders and lats lacked mobility - I wasn't using a grip that was conducive for my own physical capabilities AND faults You see, back in the day.... … [Read more...]
Learning The Olympic Lifts
Years and years ago Coach Reeve told me how he would train his Football players while also playing videos on TVs of The IronMind Olympic Lifting Training Halls. I snatched up those highlight DVDs immediately and the footage blew me away! I couldn't believe how damn STRONG these dudes were! Not only were they hitting the olympic lifts with heavy weights AND fast, but they were also powerlifting with extreme poundages using NO support gear. About a year ago I decided I would start learning the … [Read more...]
Phantom Of The Anvil
"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it." - Bruce Lee This photo alone speaks volumes. Somehow, while searching "Anvil Lifting" and being inspired from an old Kevin Tolbert photo (see below) I came across another photo on the web, credit to USAWA. I saw it and immediately thought to myself, HOLY SHYT!!! This Dude is a F**ing TANK! I'm almost tempted to say NOTHING else as the photo speaks for … [Read more...]
