Redemption Time. I just got my ass kicked during the brutal Jersey Shore Challenge conditioning circuit. Pauly Reddick of course verbally abuses me and I used my bread and butter to redeem myself: The Pull Up. The Peg Board, well, that's another story. I tried this when I first got to their gym and it was rough. AFTER the workout, somehow, someway, I got it a bit. A little practice and I can kick that peg board's ass. I am inspired by Vision Quest, a movie that shows my … [Read more...]
Another One Bites the Dust….from Bodyweight Training!
In a way I am shocked yet on the flip side, NOT so shocked. Last week we had 3 different athletes throw up, simply from TWO bodyweight exercises, both of which are in Bodyweight University. It was the first 10 minutes of the workout nonetheless. The problem is, I have high expectations, or maybe not, you tell me when you post your comment. There are FAR too many athletes, even high level athletes, who can not handle even the simplest workout using bodyweight exercises. Last week … [Read more...]
Underground Bodybuilding Workout
I used to belong to one ass kicking gym. It was 7,000 sq ft of free weights, squat racks, power racks, dumbbells going up to 180, countless benches and the sickest powerlifting platform I have EVER seen. EVERYONE in that gym trained heavy and hard. Powerlifters AND bodybuilders were rubbing shoulders all the time, it was packed wall to wall with aggressive competitors. Today, everyone says they have "bulging discs" and have more excuses than ever before. The bodybuilders of The Golden Era didn't just look strong, they were strong. They walked the talk. It wasn't chemical warfare back then, it was HARD WORK. I snagged myself a dozen or so old school bodybuilding … [Read more...]

15 Minute Muscle Building Workouts
I was in a bit of a rush Friday before clients were heading in to The Underground Strength Gym and I was finishing up some work on the Blog. Not to worry, as I knew I could crank out some brutal work for myself with limited time. Hey, 15 minutes sounds like nothing but when you're as insanely busy as I am, it works when you need it to work, and, you learn to cut out the crap and focus on the meat and potatoes. Getting stronger in both the physical and mental state is what I TRULY love. … [Read more...]
