I wanted to send this as a newsletter but my words never come out right when I type so I figured a lil’ video will work better.
It’s day 1 of The Underground Strength Coach Cert and I am home now after dinner with the wrecking crew and I was just getting a little mushy starting to feel honored and blessed and lucky and grateful and everything wrapped into one.
Now, I would love to tell you to kill it, as always, but my homeboys from the UK have a different saying….
it’s quite bad ass I must admit: “SMASH IT UP!”
Your choice:
A) Kill it!
or…
B) Smash it Up!

I got my hands on an old book a few years ago and it really pushed home the need for simplicity.
In addition, the book also encouraged the need for basics – when I saw the build on the author I was floored.
He was seriously built like a brick s**t house!
His workouts were often in the 30 minute range or so.
They revolved around 1 – 3 exercises per workout.
Then, I had 2 kids recently hit The Underground Strength Gym here in Edison, NJ.
Both burnt out from years of overtraining and countless injuries thanks to those workouts, I decided to take a different turn.
I had them come in 2 x week and train only 20 – 30 minutes.
We choose 3 exercises most of the time, not including any abdominal or grip work, and then they go to town on these lifts, submax effort all the way, always leaving a rep or two or three in the tank.
They love it, they’re having more fun than ever before and they are getting stronger and feeling healthier than ever before.
Can’t argue with those results.
When they begin to compete in the upcoming wrestling season I will definitely get some footage up at The Underground Strength Show.
But man, these guys are just killing it and starting to pack on muscle and develop brute strength faster than ever before.
It’s not that shorter is better, it’s the fact that smarter is better.
Stay tuned for videos…wrestling season is around the corner
And by the way, these workouts have been used by myself as well, it’s not just for wrestlers, or athletes in general, it’s for anyone who wants to build a rugged physique and develop brute strength.
Kill it!

I had just finished a phone call with Joe DeFranco and he was telling me how Mike “the Asshole” Guadango was regularly doing heavy, HEAVY 1 rep sets for pull ups and recline rows with over 100 lbs at times.
These HEAVY sets helped him kill which is why “The Asshole” rocked a 50 rep set of pull ups!
Plus, last time I checked, the only way you can get stronger is by putting more weight on the “bar”.
Jack it up!
Question for You: Tell me how you’re breaking records and pushing big weights with your bodyweight workouts by commenting below!

PS: Just had a beastly crew of guys come to The Underground Strength Gym for the USC Certification. They got the home study course and can now spread the Underground method on how to build athletes who posses brute strength and lightning fast speed.
This is where you can get our system for yourself:

Last weekend I had the pleasure of instructing the 3rd Underground Strength Coach Certification.
Each crew gets crazier and crazier, this crew REALLY blasted through workouts like they were on fire.
The coaching they learned and picked up really made me proud!
I am beyond honored to be in this position and the guys who came here, 2 from the UK, really make me feel blessed.
I put together a highlight reel of their craziness, and much of coursr wasn’t caught on film, but these guys got me BAD with a practical joke that almost had me going BIG time.
So, as many of you know, I am quite the prankster myself so now I must plan my revenge! ha ha
Enjoy the video and post your comments and thoughts below.
Till the next time,
Kill it!
or, as my homeboys from the UK taught me, “SMASH it Up!”

PS: Can’t make it to an Underground Strength Coach Certification? Your best bet is to get my home study course:

This is what happens when the tunes & the atmosphere are pumpin’!
Think about what you could do if you have your own Underground style gym.
I started in my parent’s garage, then bought a house with a 2 car garage and took over the garage.
Tell me about your Underground gym, no matter how big or small, let’s hear it!
Kill it!

I am a lucky guy, no doubt about it
A few years back I was chatting on the phone with Pat Miletich (yes, the same Pat Miletich that has one of the best MMA teams in the world) and he referred me to a guy named Jon Hinds.
I took action asap and called and e mailed Jonny to see if we could chat.
We connected immediately and spoke frequently on the phone, the training conversations we had were the best ones I ever had and it was always tough to get off the phone because we were exchangning so many killer training ideas.
Jonny is a true “Physical Culturist” – his training methods are different than mine and he has influenced the way I train my athletes to such a great extent that I frequently call on Jonny for a Bonus interrogation for many of my products.
At 45 years young, Jonny would whoop my ass in a workout and can dunk a basketball like nobody’s business! I just finished chatting with Jonny on the phone and we spoke about training wrestlers, football players, resisted running with bands, speed and power during training, nutrition and tons more: the conversation was so freaking awesome I even missed Entourage!
I watch 30 minutes of TV per week, and that 30 minutes is for Entourage! ha ha
I’ve been using many of Jonny’s methods with my wrestling crew at CJA wrestling club as well as w/my athletes at The Underground Strength Gym.
There is much to learn from a guy who never uses barbells and dumbbells yet is a Pan Ams gold medalist in jiu jitsu, can slam dunk with ease at age 45 and has truly 1 of the biggest influences on me in the “game” of Physical Fitness.
And by the way, someone asked me today via e mail where I get my kettlebells from. I snagged em’ from Jonny and they’re to your left (you can see the banner on your left). I have one sitting outside for over 6 months now with not one ounce of rust on it.
Kill it!
–Coach Z–
PS: I have an interview with Jonny along with a boat load of killer training info in my Combative Kettlebell DVD Set right here: ==> http://combatgrappler.com/KettlebellsforCombat.html
PPS: Check out this video of something I show you plenty more of in Kettlebells For Combat…

A lot of people telling me they’re addicted to the Underground Strength Show! That is insane! And very, VERY humbling.
On the flip side, will everyone love or like everything I do or every episode? Heck No!
That’s life and that’s business!
You need thick skin if you’re gonna put yourself out there. I am not perfect and have many flaws, as does my training.
So my advice to you: Whatever you love to do, do it. Don’t listen to the naysayers and ignore the jealous ones who will put you down and try to stop you.
I’m addicted to the iron, and I’m gonna show everyone what I love to do and I’m gonna do what I love.
Kill it!
–Coach Z–
PS: Are you addicted to the iron like I am? What else are you passionate about? How can you turn your passion into your career?
PPS: Underground training began for me in my Dad’s garage and backyard. It has evolved into something bigger than I ever imagined, but that was a problem for me back then, I didn’t imagine BIG enough. This is what happens when you imagine BIG:

Do you quit when the going gets tough?
Do you let the naysayers bring you down and tell you how bad the economy is?
When you’re crazy busy, do you skip the workout or do you suck it up and train at midnight when everyone else is sleeping?
When you miss a lift, do you cry and go home or do you attack again?
When you see a mountain do you stop or do you climb?
It’s time to kill it, period. I am so f**ing tired of the negative dudes out there crying about the economy, about how busy they are, about this and about that.
I remove those people from my life asap! They will bring you down like the Titanic!
It’s Never Enough! You must always climb to greater heights.
I’m gonna keep on climbing and I have plans layed out to keep kicking ass, more so than ever before!
Kill it!
–Coach Z–
