Physical culture goes back many, many decades, well over a century. These were times of true strength and athleticism. Times when men were strong, mobile and agile and... drug free. Training was a variety of bodybuilding movements and methods, powerlifting movements, strongman drills, gymnastics drills and more. The physiques developed were nothing shy of incredible, and, ironically, this was the simplest form of training ever. No complications or fancy ying yang methods, yet the … [Read more...]

He was a freak and had freakish training methods
He walked through waist high water for over an hour, lifting his legs out of the water on each step to develop work capacity. He would snatch throw a 220 lb. barbell for 100 reps backwards over his head as a warm up to his olympic lifting workouts. He trained in solitude. He trained in training hall or his backyard. There were times he would train with a barbell in the water as well, diving under and emerging seconds later with the barbell ripped through the water into a power … [Read more...]

The Rogue Warrior said…
Happy Father's Day for my Dad's reading this. For the ladies, please pass on my best wishes to the father's you know :) Long, long time ago I read a book called 'Rogue Warrior'. It was very motivating and I couldn't put it down. I remember the guy who reccomended it to me, he was a regular customer at GNC when I was 18 and working there, putting gas in my car for the gym trek I made every other day :) He told me about this book with all the tough things this guy did, so, with my … [Read more...]

Train through this
Training is easy when you wake up after 8 hours sleep, someone does your laundry, cooks for you, and there is all the time in the world to do what you want. Those days ended long ago for me, but, that doesn't mean those days will never come back. Having a Chef and a cleaning team is certainly something I plan on having, but, in the mean time, I am usually getting 5 - 6 hours of sleep per day, working from 7 am - midnight. Training is never perfect with such a schedule, and getting strong, … [Read more...]
It’s FREE and Awesome!
Ya gotta love these...they're FREE and they get you freaking strong! My motivation all began when I visited the tire yard in town, and I spent about 30 seconds wrestling a tire to flip it over, which damn near killed me. Then, the "Tire Yard Freak" walked up, took a few puffs of his cigarette, threw it down, and flipped the tire 3 times in a row....no knee lift, ALL power. Just a pure FREAK! His strength shook me up and woke me up. Why? Because he wasn't a guy "lifting weights" in the gym, he … [Read more...]
Lucky? I don’t think so!
My wife was watching FOX news a few hours ago and I caught a few minutes with her. I'm not a big news watcher, too much negativity for me. The interesting thing that caught my attention was the guest they had on the show who was the founder for the NAAO, National Action Against Obesity. The newscaster was trying to make her feel bad about the entire airplane seating debate for being obese and how some people are big bones, etc, etc. ALL the excuses were raining down and MeMe Roth stayed tough … [Read more...]
