No one has stopped me, and no one will stop me. There is NO can't, won't or impossible. I BELIEVE! Do you?!?! Dedicated to your success, --Z-- P.S. - Wanna make things … [Read more...]
Save BIG on Mother’s Day
As a husband, a father, and of course, first and foremost, a son to my mother, Mother's Day has take on new meaning to me. It's a BIG deal. If you've been reading my Blog, you know how proud I am to be a father, and how seriously I take it. Without my mother, without my wife....things would be quite different around here. Endless Lessons Learned from The Underground aka “Old School” Bodybuilding & Strength Training Methods
In the 50s and 60s, strength sports were a small "Underground" cult. Even in the 70s. Until Arnold hit the big screen, bodybuilding and literally building your body was viewed as something only a narcissist would do. Today, of course, being strong, fit and healthy is viewed as "normal". I have been getting back to my roots lately, even with my time crunched workouts, I'm hitting the underground bodybuilding methods and it's paying off big time. When I use the term "Underground", those early … [Read more...]
Q & A and stories on grip strength
Got a question via e mail and wanted to share this bad boy.... Question: I own a small gym in St Louis and have recently added a few thick bars to my collection. I had a new member ask me an interesting question the other day, he wanted to know what muscles were benefiting from using a thick bar that would not benefit by using a regular size bar. He also asked if you only used the thick bar would that hurt him in the long run because he is a pitcher and a quarterback on his high school … [Read more...]

he trained with me in my Dad’s garage
Wow, those were some wild days. Back when I FIRST began taking on clients as a profession, a five bucks per hour profession none the less :) I was training a few athletes from my Dad's garage, his backyard and the local parks. At the time, Kurt, was a high school basketball player. His Dad owned a truck and I offered to train him all summer for free if he can help me pick up some gym equipment. I purchased a long dumbbell rack, a chin - dip combo bar, a boat load of rusty ivanko … [Read more...]

In case I forgot (which I think I did....) On Saturday, May 10th, at 12 Noon, I will be holding my annual LIFT Strong fundraiser, a strongman contest for my athletes who are raising money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
