Do you want to be strong, or do you want to be highly conditioned? Do you want to be explosive, or do you want to be agile, mobile and hostile? How about training for all of these traits? I know, many people say you must specialize to get optimal results. But, in the real world, you need everything. You gotta be "in shape", and that means having the perfect blend of many physical traits: strength endurance, power endurance, aerobic endurance, and overall conditioning. Finding the right … [Read more...]

No Respect for Basic Strength Training? Lift in the Garage
I have had some interesting conversations with Jim Wendler. One in particular struck a chord with me quite heavily. In fact, it has helped mold a process I use at my gym when training new athletes. Jim and I spoke about the lack of respect for the weights nowadays, specifically by those who spend too much time on the internet and at these fancy gyms. I see how kids casually skip workouts that their parents pay for without a care in the world. I see how countless high school athletes don’t … [Read more...]
Kettlebell Night Ops
It was 10 PM at night. The air was cool and my wife was asleep. My daughter fell asleep at 8:30 PM and I just finish cleaning up, massaging my wife to fall asleep and unable to get in my quick workout, I headed around the backyard into the dark to grab an 80 lb Kettlebell. The sky was bright, being it was a full moon, I was able to see better than usual. I had to train, because being strong is what made me successful in the first place. Strength is what gave me grit and toughness to … [Read more...]

The Rogue Warrior said…
Happy Father's Day for my Dad's reading this. For the ladies, please pass on my best wishes to the father's you know :) Long, long time ago I read a book called 'Rogue Warrior'. It was very motivating and I couldn't put it down. I remember the guy who reccomended it to me, he was a regular customer at GNC when I was 18 and working there, putting gas in my car for the gym trek I made every other day :) He told me about this book with all the tough things this guy did, so, with my … [Read more...]
I speak the truth…
Just got an e mail earlier today asking about my thoughts regarding the Lifeline Kettlebells and The Power Wheel. First off, I will never promo something I do not believe in, or something that you can not benefit from. I have a few of the Lifeline K-bells and wish I had these earlier. They freaking rock. They do not have a glossy finish, they fit perfectly and the price is right. The power wheel is a regular in my own workouts as well as our athletes. Lots of handwalks and roll outs, and some … [Read more...]

This is a STRONG Life BONUS Podcast episode. It's a Throwback, from 2006, so please understand the audio quality back then was NOT what it is today. Instead, enjoy the Information. What were you Born to do?
Here we go, another one of my "deep" posts for you. I hope this will make you think and take action. You see, about 1 1/2 years ago I was having dinner at my friends home in Florida, Ryan Lee. We were speaking about my readiness to open a gym so I can do what I love most, which is training athletes, especially young athletes, and getting them STRONG. I love the internet, but, I need fresh air, I need to wrap my hands around iron and sweat like my athletes do. He told me to do what I … [Read more...]
