Drenched in Sweat, Some Blood, Aches & Pains But The Champions Always Do "Extra Credit!" At The Underground Strength Gym, whenever the athletes finish a workout, I let our athletes know that they can stay extra and do "extra credit Champion workouts." This can be ANYTHING, it doesn't have to be fancy, it can simply be doing an arm workout. When you do extra credit … [Read more...]

Solo Workouts, Cold Weather & Mental Training
I am excited to crank this blog post, as ALWAYS! The photos of old school greats and Golden Era bodybuilding always fires me up. Energy is sky high lately, I've been fasting often and experimenting with my nutrition and it's feeling GREAT. On a mission to get to 205, lean and mean.... agile, mobile and hostile! 5 Tips for Training High School Athletes
Training young athletes is my passion. I LOVE helping skinny, weak kids go from Boy to BEAST..... not just physically, but mentally as well. The lack of strength focused work is why the bodybuilders of The Golden Era had that thick, dense, rugged physique. The bodybuilders of today rely on chemical warfare rather than building a physique that stays with you for a lifetime. The Golden & Silver Era bodybuilders focused on free weights, heavy lifting, hard work on the basics and no fads or … [Read more...]
Underground Bodyweight Workout Challenge
I've been to a LOT of wrestling clubs and worked with a LOT of wrestling teams. I used to be shocked and even angered seeing how wrestlers were NOT performing ONE good push up: full range of motion, neck and entire body aligned, tight abs.... How the hell can a wrestler be unable to perform the bread and butter basic exercise that EVERY athlete should be cranking? The Great Dan Gable would lose his mind if he saw this. Bodyweight Training is extremely powerful when implemented properly. … [Read more...]
